Alan Gross knew what he was doing when he contracted to the CIA/USAID, dissident and insurgent, program. He smuggled sims, into Cuba, for Satellite phones, that hid the location of the sender for a radius of approximately 200 miles. These sims, were only available to the US military, and the CIA, and its various divisions. Greed has reared its ugly head in this case, I'm afraid. If you do the crime, be prepared to do the time!

Unfortunately, you are all to correct on several levels. It is not that we are not well informed - it is that we do not take advantage of those good sources of global news - rather many stay with FOX or radio talk programs which are very slanted and biased and have no problem with spreading half-truths and outright lies! Many in this country just do not care! Some choose to listen to this sh*t and believe it! SAD!

As you love your country, I love mine! A few on this site interpret any criticism as hate for the U.S. or lack of "partiotism" which is pure ignorance on their part. Once in Cuba I displayed a small U.S. flag in my rented car and had an offer from a Cuban to purchase it! I love my U.S.! But I am not blind to its falts!
