I think this would be wonderful if it were true, however Assad lies constantly. He only says things to get the Rebels to lower their guard, then strikes harder. We have seen this through the cease fire episodes and in the beginning. Assad also said that he would decide whose name shall go on a ballot then must be a member of the baath party.

If Assad was sincere I doubt he would be destroying cities with barrel bombs and killing innocent people, he would not be bringing more Hezbollah and Iranian military,so again he is a hypocrite.

I am sure the Pope will see right through his lies and shake his head. And still Assad wonders why the Rebels want him out, tsk tsk tsk

He must follow that book that says it is ok to lie when it is to get accepted by someone else.

So, it's only Washington that can assemble a 'coalition of the willing' when fighting al Qaeda?

And just for the record, the Taliban were and still are far more loosely allied with al Qaeda than the current so-called Syrian opposition is.

Just one more inconvenient truth for the history books.

To add more kindling to thefire Assad evacuates 5000 Alawite to protect them from the fighting. Nothing like showing which religious group he wants to protect and which he wants to eliminate.

mxlpix what are you babbling about Washington. Again to clear the cob webs in your head, this is Syria we are talking about. My point is if Assad wants to talk about peace instead of fighting why is he still dropping barrel bombs and killing innocent people. so far 200 women and children from the barrels. I know this is difficult for you to understand so I will not push it.

I'm sure if Assad had hellfire drones, the combatant to civilian kill ratio would drop by at least half.

Maybe we should offer him some as a humanitarian gesture?

They have evacuated civilians Moron, that will leave the way for the SAA to annihilate the rodent filth in the City,if they hadn't evacuated them you would have said Assad is attacking civilians,if they are Alawites and I don't know if they are, they would be evacuated because those head hacking maniacs would slaughter them if they could, are you F;;; STUPID?

Well shitforbrains, the SAA attacked Alleppo with barrel bombs on women and children why didn't Assad the terrorist remove the civilians first then bomb the Rebels, using your logic?

Besides, the point was to point out the terrorist moron sending a note through his people to the Vatican that he is some puritan on a mission of peace, which as you now know is total bull shit, but of course lets here your lies to interpret this in your twisted way.

If Russia had not blocked them from receiving Saudi humanitarian aid, there never would have been any bombings.

I am happy you said that because it just confirms what some of us have been saying for a long time, you support those animals as long as they are bombing and killing anyone who is in the way of the New Reich, you are one sick wild animal.

Look Ignorant, Christianís very existence In Syria, which is their ancient habitat, is endangered by these Islamists fighters, and Assadís winning is their only hope. This Pope is much more astute to sociopolitical issues of the moment than previous Popes, and he must have given the signal to Assad that he wants communication with him; just as he invited Putin to Vatican recently.

Nope Chrisy from the jungle.
It was dictator Assad that contacted the Pope. Throw away the Marxist Times subscription it's junk.

Yep, my imitation of George gets better and better with time. The fact that he actually considers Saudi payments to wage worldwide jihad as humanitarian aid really says everything you need to know about the bubblebrain.
