Bishops, of whom Pope Francis is one, never really got Economics 101 straight. Capitalist economies have lifted far more people out of poverty permanently than have all charities combined. Visit Taiwan, South Korea or Singapore for starters.) A charitable public mindset on top of a free market economy makes far more sense than “trickle up poverty”(i.e. socialism).
On the other hand, I shall cheerfully defer to the bishops on strict matters of theology.

According to the Bible Capitalism is as far from economic as you could get. No lines on maps, dividing of land, money-changers, profiteers, salesman, soldiers, gamblers, sellers of skin etc is the system it and I recommend. And by the way I am the most economic and efficient manufacturing manager in all of time.
