I find it offensive to have to tiptoe around ridiculous protestations of 'faith' while my beliefs must remain hidden for fear of offending. I see religion as silly superstition and quite laughable, yet I must nod and smile and pretend to respect the spouters of rank nonsense. When are they going to respect my right to think they are completely delusional?

Who's "us" and "our"?
This "us" and "our" would be the Trinity ie. God, the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.

I agree with mom of 1 and dad of 3. Christ has done so much for me. I wouldn't be doing as well as I am if I didn't have Him. Even if it's just a movie, I will not be attending a movie written by an author who wants to kill God.

Pullman's books are works of fiction.

That seems a good place to start. However, they are mixed with alot of good theories. Honestly, it was kind of mind expanding in the way a good book should be. It expanded my horizons without preaching.

To say Pullman's characters killed god would actually be a misnomer. They released him from prison, and he became one with his creation.

I guess really one could take this either way, but it does make some really good points, such as "building a republic of heaven on earth." If anything his book promotes self-thought and autonomy and asks us not to except things on blind faith alone.
