AWESOME concert!!! As good as 3 years ago at Polaris... They sooo compliment each other...
Verdine's slowing down a bit... Missed his red apparel...
It was definitely a night to remember… Fabulous performances… And when they played together… SPECTACULAR!!! A NITE TO REMEMBER….

Chicago is my all time favorite band. That being said, I was disappointed with the performance last night. I thought the vocals lacked energy and the song set was too disjointed. I was surprised when the band members were not introduced;they accounted for Tris Imboden not playing drums, but didn't mention the missing James Pankow on trombone. I thought EWF put on a superior performance.

I was amazed at the versatility and energy of these musicians. I'm thinking the original band members of both groups are in their 60's and it appeared to me that they haven't skipped a beat in energy, vocals, or instrumentals. It was the best father's day present I've ever gotten and I have a cherished memory that will last forever. As a high school marching band director, it has also enspired me to do a show commemorating the longevity and excellence of these two groups.

I'm baaack! the only negative part of the show was the decibal level. They could cut it by 25% and it would have just has much energy plus enhance the quality.

I wanted to see EW&F but I didn't go because I can't stand Chicago. Never liked them and never will.

Great show; EW&F was monster and the combined efforts of both bands was thrilling to see and hear. But I was disappointed by Chicago's thin vocals; surely if they'd needed some vocal support to achieve their SIGNATURE Chicago harmonies, they could've tapped some back-up singers for the tour easily? Also, I wish they'd played more old stuff and less of the, er, later stuff(trying to observe the 'if you can't say something nice' rule)...but overall, I was wowwed by the show - the two bands together were transcendent and made even more enjoyable by the obvious comraderie of the guys. Well run event, too, Schottenstein staff!!

I too enjoyed the show, but I agree the decibel level could have been notched back a great deal. And I was sorely disappointed that Jimmy Pankow was missing. They were better when I saw them in Charlotte, NC a couple of years ago. All in all, though, we had a fabulous time! It was my first time seeing EWF in concert and they were definitely worth the $$ we spent!!!

What an incredible concert! Have been to several this year but this truly was like a big party with long lost friends!

- Lighting design: A- Loved the energy and use of silhouettes. Only negative was direct lights into my eyes during most of EW&F's set.

- Sound design: C- I know they say it's impossible to balance sound in all places at the venue, but the volume was too loud *everywhere*. From where we sat, the flute and other solos were sabotaged by very poor mixing

- Energy/Showmanship: EW&F get an A+. I was in awe....Chicago gets individual scores from A- to C-. I'm sure their guitarist is very talented (name is Keith I believe), but his demeanor was *so* lackluster and if he was too cool to even grace us with his presence. Loved the trombonist and the flautist trying to get the crowd into it.

- Overall Experience: B+. The final joint performance was outstanding. Glad we went.

Had a great time. First time I have seen either band. EWF had the show hands down. The energy level from them was awesome. I wasn't expecting an older band to have that much get up and go. I would go see them again. Chicago was more subdue in their performance but still sounded good.

Hi...drove from Cleveland, Ohio to attend the Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire concert on Sunday June 21, 2009. The concert was great, I really enjoyed it very much. I noticed that Jimmy Pankow was missing from the Chicago group. Is there a reason why he was not present for the concert?

The horn players in chicago have a tendancy to take time off when they need it. Seems like Jimmy is more frequent than others. I hope he's in Chicago(the city) on Friday night.
