The economy has nothing to do with it.
As soon as all the bikers heard is was headed to the LA County fairgrounds most everyone decided not to participate.

"Who in the #*@! wants to go to Pomona?" was the most familiar statement from the riders.

A return to Castaic and the Love Ride will be bigger and better and badder than ever before.

Location, location, location is everything even if it is a charity.
Ya gotta make it interesting to get people to spend their dollars and time and efforts.

It was the LA County Fairgrounds that killed the Love Ride, not the economy.

Although the intent was good, it got to the point where it ws not as fun and became a chore. I care to not sit idling for hours just to get in, wait in line, etc...for a one day ride, simply no longer fun and like the other comment, I'm sorry, but who wants to ride to Pomona! Pick another location outside the area and develop it into a 2 dayer and u'll see attendees reappear, but as it is, it's time to put it to rest and enjoy the memories. The Love Rides time has come....roll on to the next.

I loved watching the Harley's leave from Glendale, where I used to live, and hear them roar down the freeway. My Father in law used to participate, too. Here in Pa, we do a ride on 9/11, not nearly so big as in Cali, but just as memorable.

Lets get something straight here; the so called "american biker" is dead, the new biker is the same old biker; and he rides the road racing corner carver. we ride bikes that handle like dreams, run like a top, and need no attitutde to show. the real americna rider rides bmw, ducati, Honda, kawasaki, and other superior motorcycles. if we want a chopper, we can always buy a honda Fury or a Yamaha Raider. The real rider has spoken!

it's over; the harley craze and the overpriced market has fallen. remember when the musclecar market fell out? or the lowrider market? all fads. The real market will always be Japanese and european motorcycles. all others will be like dust in the wind, bro.
