In the little "Bill fold" item, the Star-Bulletin editors once again show their total ignorance about what's in the "new" (old) Akaka bill.

There are now three versions of the bill introduced in February, March, and May. The second version has much stronger language against gambling than the third version. Neither version is able to totally prohibit gambling, but the second version comes much closer to that than the third version.

So why was the third version introduced? IT'S NOT TO DEAL WITH GAMBLING.

All the news media simply accepted at face value the propaganda put out by Akaka/Inouye. They clearly did not compare what the bills actually say, nor did they remember what they wrote a couple months ago when the second version was introduced, about hos that second version would prohibit gambling.

In other words, the Star-Bulletin is showing how stoooopid and irresponsible it is every time it crows about the Akaka bill, and especially in this little "bill fold" zinger.
