I agree that Paul Simon is a brilliant songwriter, but he didn't have the fabulous voice of Art Garfunkel, which took his songs to the top. Art is an extremely talented man and deserves much praise in his own right.

Being a huge fan of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, together and alone, I can't say better myself .
With his last album,"Everything Waits To Be Noticed", Art Garfunkel has proved he can also be a songwriter; listen to the song "A Perfect Moment".And when he doesn't write them himself, he can choose his songs very well and sing them so movingly way: I think to " Bright Eyes", "All I Know", "A Heart In New York".

What Paul Simon conveniently forgets to mention time and again is the very significant contribution Art Garfunkel made, through melody, arrangement and attention to detail - not to mention his surreal vocal talent - to the songs that made Simon AND Garfunkel famous. Another ommision is the name of the person that made a significant songwriting contribution to their very first success as teenagers Tom and Jerry - And who piqued others' interest with his vocal gift in the first instance? One qustion: If Paul Simon had performed vocals on Bridge Over Troubled Water, would it have been the mammoth hit it was and still is today?

Paul has always been most gracious in his acknowledgement of his fellow contributors be it Art Garfunkel or Ladysmith.

Agreed, Dave, because of the arguments and Hearts and Bones era people like to dismiss Paul too quickly, when actually he can be a very decent man.
