Patti Austin Not Chasing the Mainstream

If anyone deserves to be a salty about a lack of career recognition, it's Patti Austin.
The 56-year-old singer, who grew up in the business and had Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington as godparents, is renowned for her voice _ elegant and sumptuous, refined yet soulful. She has charmed millions through pop hits (the classic 'Baby Come To Me' with James Ingram is arguably her biggest hit), commercial jingles, R&B albums and jazz discs.
But unlike, say, Diana Krall, Austin doesn't have a Grammy or a platinum album. And unlike Madeleine Peyroux, she isn't a top-seller among the Starbucks set. She's far from a household name, even though it seems that she should be _ a rare mainstream profile by '60 Minutes II' a couple of years back lamented that Austin was one of music's underappreciated treasures. Hello Mrs.Austin I have tried to reach you via email. If i am correct you had a brother named Doni. My name is David I am his son. I was born in Jamica Queens and raised in Far Rockaway were I lived most of my life . I am 39 now and still no closer to having any info on my dad . All I
have is a picture of him that Clyde gave me when I met him and his family in Holbrook in LI..The picture is addressed to Dad Mom & Patti it is from 1958 a Handsome fellow I must say just like my self (smile). Just want some answers about who he was, if I have any other siblings,I know he passed away but when where how . Fathers Day is coming up for 37 father days I have never had a father so please I don't need anything but some answers & if you could help any one person right now help me signed the nephew you have never met. My last ? is do you miss him .Life is passing us by and I don't want to leave this planet with out knowing my dad. I learned this lesson for 39 years thank you. I read your post last year, and I thought you would have recieved some feedback by now--either positive or negative. It's sad to see that you haven't gotten answers or closure to the information you are so desperately seeking. If I come across any contact information for you regarding your Aunt Patti, I will post it here. Good luck in your continued search!

last pm june 13 on pbs in cincinnati,
i saw the tail-end of the tribute to ella.
there was patti and natalie cole.
she , they were fab-tabolous.
she was fantastic, my jaw dropped and eyes bugged.
after the show i pulled out my sarah vaugh dvd,
patti is in the same leauge as far as i am concerned.
always and forever a big patti fan.
