Why does the movie industry, actors, producers, etc. have use foul language to make a point. No wonder this world is in sad shape. There are no role models for the younger generation to look up to unless they know all the 4 letter words. Sad, Sad world we have become.

an award show foe excellence is not a podium for political rhetoric. All those that do should be bleeped out altogether. These shoes are not public forums for free speech to the chagrin of our rights "not to be harassed" with unwanted divergent opinions....let them buy their own airtime just like any other PAC.

I guess they think their views matter to people like me, well they don't. I once was a fan Ray and Sally but no longer.

Aren't there better words out there than swear words. Great, Wonderful, Fantastic, Horrible, etc. Very disappointed. It's getting to the point, of just calling out their name, give them the award and move on. Anymore, who cares what they say. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!!!!

Despite all the glitz and designer gowns, I have come to the conclusion that what is lacking in these awards is class and dignity. Raunchy, potty mouth, haphazzard jokes have made me decide not to watch this stuff again. One could expect it from young adults, but not so called professionals.

Sally Field, what a shame for an actress I always respected until now. When I hear foul words it tells me those speaking them have a very limited vocabulary. I guess when playing a part they have the words/dialog written for them but left to their own they can not come up with appropriate language. Maybe some of them need to take 101 refresher language courses.

It's a shame that people have such a minimal vocabulary that they feel the need to use foul and vulgar language when there is never, ever any need to do so. There are always better words to use, that aren't offensive, to get your point across.

I wish all the presidential candidates used foul language in their TV blitzkriegs...then we wouldn't have to listen to any of their platitudes and blather.

The self glorification of actors is beyond any reasonable thought process known to modern civilization. They get by with some of the most pitiful performances and recieve accolades and awards for their stupid actions. I love Sally Fields but when she starts to rant about the war, she loses me. Its no longer entertaining and becomes a outlet for her own personal views without any regards for mine. I mean, can I get a few minutes on TV to voice my opinion? Not!

how sad-- some people are incapable of making a short comment, without using profane language.

how difficult is it to make a point, without "garbage" in their vocabulary.. must be they need the attention!!!!

Swear words have become the norm...pretty soon all children everywhere will be using them from the time they can speak. "mommy wheres my bleeping blankie? You bleep I know you di'int put it in the bleeping wash you bleeping bleep bleep!" And so on.
I agree that celebrities have potty mouth. There should be NO live TV. All shows should be taped and heavily edited. It should be called, "highlights of the Emmys" and last about 1 hour with commercials. Much less boring, and time wasting. Thank you.

It makes one wonder where we dig up the trash called entertainers and where they learn to use such foul language. Indeed they have a limited vocabulary and no respect for the audience that pays their hefty saleries.

Did you watch the show? You didn't hear any foul words, they were censored. Your virgin ears are safe.

If more good people expressed their reservations and disgust with this war and this phoney president maybe we woudn't be in the mess we're in. Good for Sally Field. A true American with a real heart. The only obsenity I hear is the unrelenting death knell we sound in Iraq but it's a tolling bell that will inevitably echo back.
