If she ever finds herself out of a job, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams could find work as a choir director. Read more

Took my daughter, her best friend and her mom to see the Paramore concert last night....unbelievable! It was an awesome concert....probably the best band concert I've ever seen. I'm in a band and can tell you that they were tight. Hayley's vocals were unreal, and she's a true frontwoman and performer. The musicians were really together and sounded as good or better than the recordings. The only thing I missed were the high harmonies they could have had if they had one female background singer with them. But really you didn't miss it because her vocals were so spot-on and overwhelming in a great way. The sound system at the LC was much better than expected and they had the vocals out front for the most part. Our daughters are in 5th grade so it was nice to be able to bring them to a concert where it rocked and was crazy but wasn't a dangerous crowd or bad lyrics. Awesome concert...Relient K was good too, they rocked...I'm going to get their album. I don't know how Hayley does it with singing in that range almost night after night...she really left it on the stage and they all put on an excellent show! Come back soon Paramore! You know we love you and it was nice to get the love back from you and hear that we were by far the best crowd so far on the tour!

I don't know if I'd call them pop-punk. First of all, anytime you put the word pop in the mix it's just pop. It's insulting to the other genre. I don't care if you're talking about metal, blue, country, punk or techno. Pop usually implies that it's been homogenized for mass consumption. Not that the musicians aren't proficient, nor is that an indictment on the overall performances it's just that pop is pop.

I would classify Paramore pop band for the emo crowd. They remind me a little bit of Garbage except that Paramore is much more focused on cultivating a mainstream sound. Garbage was a little rougher.

Exactly! FYI...a real band- Pearl Jam is playing at Nationwide this week. Leave the tweenie-boppers at home and enjoy some real rock, sans 'pop'

Cue the predictable debate on how kids music today sux compared to your dad's generation..blah blah blah...
how Metallica and AC/DC are better than that whiny Pearl Jam/Nirvana crap...followed by how awesome Motley Crue and glam metal Poison was...back to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd...with the inevitable middle-agers chiming in that the Beatles and the Who invented rock...blah blah blah...Elvis.
I've just summed up the next 3-4 pages of internet blog comments....

Already got my tickets for Pearl Jam like a month ago, I can't wait!! The opening band, Band of Horses, is great also...especially live. I suggest get there early enough to check them out as well.

Yeah it's called opinions, that's why anyone would go to any internet blog. Every generation has legendary bands who are great...whether it be the 60's, 80's, 90's etc. But I fail to see a band in the past few years who will be considered an influential band 20 years from now. I feel bad for these kids who grew up on AFI, Paramore, etc. The only influence these bands had was to convince boys to wear girl jeans. Sad.

I feel for 'em too. At just short of 21 I guess I'm in the age range you're referring to but somehow I ended up getting into a lot of older metal and rock... Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, the Crue, etc.

Which I guess sorta proves your point: They were formed in the 70s-80s and 'kids' today who had no exposure to them from their parents can still listen to and enjoy them. That's some staying power. I'd be shocked if emo garbage like this lasts that long...

Also, feel compelled to note: In youth group in middle school (eight years ago) people listened to Reliant K. I had no idea they were still alive. They're not really relevant anymore, in any case.

Harmless high school diversion?! I saw drunken girls escorted and carried out by security! Then, the marijuana smoke and beer splashing out of drunken stupid kids. This show was not so fun...

I listen to ol' skool rock, but yeh paramore are a rilly good band. They are rilly original in All We Know Is Falling. Improved in Riot! And awsum in Brand New Eyes... Matured a lot. I guess they alternative/punk/emo... I actually prefer Flyleaf coz they more heavier.
Lyk: metallica, korn, judas priest, black sabbath, led zeppelin, beatles, queen, guns n roses, ac dc, nirvana, pearl jam, smashing pumpkins, slipknot, lacuna coil, evanesecence, paramore, flyleaf, blink 182, versaemerge, kenotia, 30 seconds to mars, tokio hotel etc...
