The IRS seems to go on a witchhunt when it comes to celebrities. You don't have to look far-Redd Foxx, Willie Nelson, Wesley Snipes, etc. These people are none the wiser because they have accountants and business managers working for them who are hired to take care of these matters.

It seems they like to make examples of these people because of their fame and wealth.

And because they sometimes don't pay their taxes. Or the accountants don't. Or the business managers don't.

Whatever. The whole 'fair' thing enters into this. They SHOULD pay their taxes.

They should pay their taxes, of course but they are busy making movies, etc. and put their trust in the people who work for them. Over twenty years ago, singer/musician Billy Joel's ex-brother-in-law worked for him as a business manager and embezzled millions of dollars from him. Again, he put his trust in him to manage his affairs and got screwed.

Let's see. "ex-brother-in-law". No reason to worry there, right?

This has been going on forever. Jackie Coopers own parents robbed him blind. And it is a shame people steal from each other constantly. But to the IRS, the signature at the bottom of the form confirms the return is legitimate. "I didn't know" does not work. The taxes are due. Ask Willie Nelson. Wesley Snipes. Pick a crooked politician.

If someone wants to pay someone a million or more a year a person or business should not be able to deduct that amount off their books.
Pay a million can deduct a million.
Pay ten million can deduct only a million.
Anything over a million a year is foolhardy to accept as a tax deduction or pay in a salary.
