People will soon realize that the Obama administration and ideals are not what they want. And as that happens, the Republicans need to be there as a viable alternative. That cannot happen with Republicans who are all too happy to morph into Dems.

Non-Conservative Republicans need not apply.

I want to hear Conservatives voice conservative philosophies rather than pander to uncommitted voters with poor policies.

Michael Steele is a loser. the guy LOST his maryland senate race even though he ran to the left of his dem opponent! if he cannot win in his own state how can he make an entire party a winner nationally? he cant.. unfortunately republicans are too dumb to follow election history and just rely on the fact he is a Faux News contributer and hannity's bed buddy, so they supported him. now that they know who he really is they want to get rid of him.

I hope he stays on as the RNC chairman cause like i said above he is a gigantic loser

a midterm election the opposing party is supposed to pick up a lot of seats. i am gonna predict that republicans will actually lose some senate seats and gain just a few house seats.. which would be a huge dissapointment after 2 election drubbings.. then in 2012 the Obama turnout machine will be in force and dems will pickup even more seats

Limbaugh "reminds us who we are"?!
Are you:
Fat?
White?
Rich?
High on drugs?
Racist?
A college drop-out?
Rush didn't register to vote until he was *35*. You too?
Limbaugh couldn't care less about you or America. He's a rich, dope addled racist making money off of ignorance, fear and hatred.
You LOST. Get over it.

REpublicans have got to find an identity that is not only against everything, but actually has some positive ideas. And just as importantly, they have to find some leadership that is not fatally flawed. Rush Limbaugh is a role model for exactly what? Patriotism? He dodged the draft. Family values? He's been married and divorced 4 times. And there's always the gluttony and the drug use. George W. Bush's policies were pretty much mainstream Republican policies. His lack of leadership, his refusal to veto pork-leaden bills while the GOP ran congress, his inability to inspire people with rhetoric, his "you're doing a great job Brownie" blindness to reality, made him a failure as president. Until the GOP marries the messenger to the message, it is destined to being the minority party.

okay I am gonna give free advice to republicans (the reason I'm gonna do this is i know they wont follow it)

1. dump limbaugh, hannity, savage,etc.. DUMP THEM!! steele should of stuck to his guns and cut ties with them.

reality: steele doesn't want to blow a chance to work for faux news again afterwards so he wont insult the powerful hannity and o'reilley

2. move away from the christian right. the country is becoming more liberal on social issues very very rapidly. the younger generation grew up with openly gay people and we have no problem with them... and we also grew up watching guys like benny hinn mock televangilism so our views of religion and social issues is way different.

reality: the christian right picked huckabee in Iowa but mccain came back in NH so the christian right is very loud but very small. so dumping them will attract younger voters back, but the mere fact that they are so LOUD makes it impossible for steele to dump them

Yes, embrace the elite class, racist, misogynistic bigotry that Rush stands for, because he represents the rest of the old white men, I mean Republican Party!

Seriously.. I've listened to Rush and he's like a conservative version of Howard Stern.(I think Stern is much funnier.) Both of them just say crazy, far out things to make people tune in and listen. Sometimes Rush says entertaining or even insightful things but most of the time he's really about keeping the status quo. If the Republicans go back to their roots, their roots are a bunch of old white men who aren't the majority vote anymore in a lot of districts.

If Rush is so popular and informed, maybe he should run for office out in one of the deep reds where he'd have a chance. It would be fun to see him put his money where his mouth is, instead of hiding behind a microphone and spouting pompous nonsense. John Stewart does a better job of preaching truth to power, and he's even funnier than Stern.

The Obama Administrations brilliant strategy against Rush (the drug addict) Limbaugh continues to pay off.

The Republican Partys token Uncle Tom really believes that he is the head of the RNC, LOL. I am still ecstatic that my candidate won an historic election, but the infighting and disarray of the imploded Republican Party is just icing on the cake.

Great post. Perfectly stated and nothing but the truth.

But lets not hope that they get over it; I am enjoying their suffering too much.

I hear far more racism on most left wing radio shows then I do on Limbaugh.

In fact, I don't think I've heard any racism on Limbaugh.

Also, Limbaugh is hardly a fear monger. You want to hear fear mongering, listen to Glenn Beck.

And LOL at you and your ridiculous hyperbole accusing someone else of "hatred".

You are the same cartoon you rail against.

And what should those philosophies be?
1. Fiscal Conservatism - The true philosophy is lower taxes for all, through lower spending by government.

Since the much of the lower class pay no taxes at all, and the upper classes have been given large tax cuts since 1980, that leaves the lower class paying the burden of government. Unless we get smaller government (not likely), the burden of paying for the government will continue to fall on the shoulders of the middle class. Since conservatives are not likely to raise taxes on the poor (political suicide), and we have a massive debt, no tax cuts can occur for the middle class anytime soon.

2. Military Strength And Isolationism - True conservative thought is NOT this pre-emptive strike method of diplomacy, but building up a better hammer than anyone else and then offering peace.

Nixon to China was a true conservative move. Carter working for mideast peace was a liberal move. Both good and lasting moves, but from different ends of the spectrum. BTW, Nixon called himself a liberal, back when it was not a bad word.

3. Capitalism without Government Interference - OSHA, PSC, FDA, SEC, ICE, and other protections would not exist in a conservative only government.

This is an example of why one philosophy does not fit all situations. People were hurt, were dying, and classical capitalism, even with "greedy trial lawyers" out there, were not protecting customers and employees. But true conservative thought would exclude these "government interference" branches from existing.

4. Personal Freedom And Privacy - Abortion, gay rights, equal rights in the voting booth, supermarket, buses, etc. are true conservative views. In some of those cases, Republicans are against the conservative view due to the Moral Majority, not due to consevative thought.

Democrats were initially against abortion, black voting rights, and other so-called "liberal" causes. That changed over time, but a true conservative would not care who you slept with, voted for, or what you did to your own body, as long as it didn't mess with HIS day. True conservatives still consider these issues independently and come to their own conclusions, but both parties are entrenched in their views and only the rare anti-abortion democrat or pro-abortion republican exists.

5. Conservation - Conservatives believe in conserving, as in reducing waste, keeping things for the future, and protecting their personal environment.

Teddy Roosevelt saved land and created the system of national parks that are now visited by "tree hugging liberals". Again, a true conservative belief that has been lost to the Democrats.

Steele is the newest "Sarah Palin" for the repiglicklans.

They are always a day late nad a dollar short when it comes to tracking trends. It is out of their league.

But they are quite good at stealing as much as they can and then trying to blame it on someone/something else.

readers should note that patty is a proven fraud and racist pig...hey patty...when are you going to change your stewpid slogan...barryboo dissed the brits and they lost respect for him...wonder why barryboo sent back the churchill bust:

Perhaps Obama, the son of a Kenyan, took umbrage at Prime Minister Churchill's actions in 1953 of wiping out the Mau-Mau, the Kenyan terrorists who made a specialty of slitting throats of sleeping white and Black Kenyans.
