Nelly has had many number one hits in hip hop and also a great tune with Tim McGraw. He has also won many Grammy's for his music. It may not be your type of music but I wouldn't knock it. Atleast it's something new that is definitely needed in Branson...

The builders and original owners of the Grand Palace
( Hershend's ) knew how to operate it. The new owner ( Hall ) was clueless. He recently hired a new manager ( Paul Dunn ).

Time will tell if this guy has any ability. He owns a construction company, sooooo - that must be a good qualification to manage a theater(?) lol

It was vandalized and a water pipe broke one winter during the time it's been closed. Three-million dollar renovation.

Massive mold removal project ...perhaps? lol

Whether or not Nelly caters to my taste I hope he is welcomed warmly to Branson...Ive seen many people be rude to someone outside the bible belt "norm" because they didn't fit into the conservative ideal...It wouldn't kill these people to at least be open minded and civil to a visiting artist.
Branson is sooooo stupid

Do you even realize how ignorant you sound? first of all Nelly is from Saint Louis not L.A. second I hardly think the crowd is going to consist of a bunch of gang bangers and trigger happy idiots. You sound like a racist biggot to me...so you dont think Kirby Van Birch has lowered the standards of Branson? why because he's white? who cares what the race is...people will be coming from all parts of Southern Mo to see Nelly people bring money+ people spend money at venue+venue is in Branson= Money for Branson! simple addition my friend. The visitor demographic of Branson is mostly elderly people, but the elderly that were of the era that our shows represent are slowly dying, Branson needs to change the way it attracts people and bring in a new age group if we keep depending on nostalgia to bring people back, well thats just a dead end road.

'Samsgurl' is spot on.

If you don't like country music, Andy Williams, Baldnobbers, etc. then (duh)...Don't buy a ticket.

If you don't like 'Nelly'...(duh ) don't go see the show. It's still America ( for a while anyway ) you can come and go as you please. What others enjoy ( that you don't ) should have no influence on your life. If it does - maybe you don't have a life?

Branson WILL need to bring new shows that attract a younger crowd and differing styles of entertainment in the future. While some like the Hillbilly two-tooth-Herkimer-types - many do not.

Change is good.

Some of us don`t like change. It can only run the good decent families right out of Branson! The Branson Landing only brought more crime to the area.If you don`t mind the change then you live with it.Hope you like it!

If the good decent families run out of Branson because its starting to change then good luck for them finding somewhere that will always be a Utopia. Im from Southern California right near the Border and have seen things you wouldn't believe. Branson, despite all its small town drama is a pretty mellow place.

Paul Dunn is an idiot and has no idea what family values are. He is a paranoid schizo with narcasistic tendencies.
