This is a very hard topic for me, b/c Tupac and Nas are my favorite rappers

and i honestly think they are the best

almost everone knows who tupac is, and that he is one of, if not the best rapper to ever live on this earth

But if your on this website then u will agree nas is the best living rapper as of right now

and the question is always in the back of your head

" is nas better than Pac?"

well i think Nas could be a contender

but i would like to see some other oppinoins befor i say anything else

just clear cut for me, give me Illmatic and It was Written over anything Pac ever made. I'm sorry but towards the end of his (too short) career 'Pac shouted everything. Take a listen to the track Nas did with Mobb Deep on their 2nd album, man, that verse is probably saying everything pac would've loved to have said but never had the flow or the subtle menace in his voice that was required. Don't get me wrong, i liked Pac's stuff, not to sure about the Death Row stuff, but the earlier stuff, but i don't think he figures in a top 5 of MC's. I'd put it like this
1- Nas, 2 Rakim, 3 - Biggie, 4 - Big L, 5 - Jay-Z (maybe). The cold hard truth is that 'Pac might've been more popular but that doesn't make him better, if he had lived he'd be making more shouting records, working with Lil Jon or Usher or Chris Brown, Nas is working with primo and had a 2 mil Neptunes beat to spit over. Case closed..

I agree Nas can be a good contender but he misses a few things like charisma. But at the and I think Nas is lyrical as strong as tupac: he, kool G rap, Rakim and Big L may be the greatest rappers ever. I Believe his next album will prove that. tu pac is also a great rapper but he didn't know the same kind of fame and statement.

depends what your talking bout... Because when it comes to lyrical content good word play great story telling Nas hands down is the victor.. Pac was an animal himself but his albums in my opinion where watered down.. he was better prior to death row records and any "Real" fan of his knows that... and as far as the comment bout sales to the industry that matters but all nas cd's where tight dawg to the fella above me... Seriously sales means nothing the discussion is the content and like I said he's to advance for pac period just an opinion of a man who knows his music.... Out

I like to say Tupac is better but Nas is great. Tupac could sing, Nas can rap. I am abig fan of 2pac but i am a servant when it comes to Nas. He is the Rapper, the Prophet and the King. My last words:"ALL HAIL KING NAS".

man ya say tupac because everyone else been saying tupac and it sounds like you guys got almost like a repsonsibility to say that tupac is the best. the fact of the matter is that nas is way better than tupac. tupac is notorious becuase of his beef with biggie and the fact that he died and how he had taken 5 shots before that. you guys let his outside behavior influence your choice with who is the best. Nas is better than tupac and always will. tupac had a great voice but i cant listen to a tupac song more than once in a course of day but nas never gets boring and you can listen to his shit anytime. nas is G.O.A.T.

who can represent rap as a whole
i agree w/ "hip hop is dead" when he said
"it sounds like you guys got almost like a repsonsibility to say that tupac is the best"
I would feel guilty is i said nas, cause tupac is a fuc ken legend, i think if Nas comes out w/ 1 or 2 more albums that r Huge he might have the title

i trully think they both the best rappers ever, n it all depends on wat u wanna listen to, but lyrically i think nas is the better, generally i think 2pac is better. in ma opinion they r more like the same. the better comes out depending on wat i wanna listen to, songs like "can u get away", "life's a bitch".
