I wonder if she made the cheque payable to Mr. D. Miscavige...
Or maybe it buys her a gold plated E-meter.
It'll certainly go towards paying someone to put the CoS website back together.

Is there a list of top scientologists salaries? It seems unlikely but I wonder if Miscavige has had to declare his official earnings as Prince of CoS Darkness.

No doubt $cientology will make good use of that money through the charitable arm of the church. Oops forgot, no charitable arm.

She joined to meet a husband, which she did.
(lots of people go to "church" for that)

They has 2 children, and divorced last year.
(lots of people do that too)

Another WIN for scientology's courses on keeping families together

Scientology isn't the only organization that claims to help keep familes together then fails to deliver. I don't hear of any others getting such a large donation for their failures.

Perhaps her ex-husband was below 2.0 on the tone scale and was "disposed of quietly and without sorrow". A mafia hit man could have "disposed of [her ex-husband] quietly and without sorrow" for less than 1/2 that price.

Neat comment on a related story in the entertainment forum (apologies to the poster, whose name I can't remember):
"If you spend 20 years of your life acting like a 10-year-old, you start to think like one."

A fool and his money is easy departed from each other. But I am sure she had be hounded and hounded by the Scientologist to give it up. They can put extreme pressure on their members to donate. Tom gets a break because he is willing to make a fool of himself on their videos. But when I think about all the homeless and hungry that could of put that money to good use, it turns my stomach. All the money is going to be spent on Miscavige’s yacht and feeding the guards that watch over Xenu. What a pity
