The more basic question is ~ does Free Speech exist anywhere in Isalm? Pleas give an example of it.

Good post.

This type of self-censorship has been seen in US in other media forms - for example comedy routines - for a long time. We've seen lots of humor directed towards Christians, Jews, etc but how many times do you see comedians mock islamic religion?

I am sure we'll never see SouthPark do a gay mohammed for example. And I'm sure we'll never see people in San Francisco do plays with Muslim themes.

Media types portray themselves as courageous destroyers of sacred cows, moving progressive civilization forward - but they sure are silent about the most oppressive religion of all.

Art cannot exist under the continued threat of political incorrectness. Yet, if it were my wife who died in the theatre bomb blast,I would have said the price of art was too high.

This is a fine example of being bullied by fanatics. When the "free world" curtials its normal day to day activities in fear of setting off violent protests, then the fanatics have won.
My opinion is that we should continue our lives as though there is no Islamic reactionaries, and when their protests spread beyond their own assets, treat them like the selfish barbarians they are and smack them down. It is obvious that the only thing they understand is abject annilation of their cause.
