Here's some good news. The Peninsula has its very own commercial classical music station, and it actually appears to be succeeding.

the station is off the air frequently, has programing problems and covers W&M sports. The thought is good, the product isn't yet. The Tide and WBCH need better reception on hot days, they lose the signal.

I am not sure you realize how big a deal it was to run the short editorial piece on Tuesday about W-BACH 107.7 FM.
Many major markets from Philadelphia to Washington, DC has lost their long-time commercial classical radio stations (WFLN and recently WGMS). In fact, only WQXR owned by The New York Times is to my knowledge the only east coast based commecial classical FM station (which also silumcasts on AM). So just imagine what "good news" it is to see W-BACH financially survive in a significantly smaller media market especially with very strong competition from a top notch NRP affiliate.

the whole show is tape delay. so it's not really a local production. i believe it comes out of boston.

If Jim is right, that puts a different spin on things... However, it is interesting that one region of this size would have two sources of classical music where in many cases you only have one!
