"It's not about shoes in the literal sense, but about living the lifestyle of someone completely different from you, and doing it for 30 days."

It's a good thing you cleared that up, because I find the idea of wearing someone else's shoes kind of disgusting. Maybe that's why I never really got into bowling, the rental shoes. I know they spray them with disinfectant, but it still seems a little icky. I know, I could have bought my own bowling shoes, but it seems like a pretty hefty investment if you're just not that into bowling.

Are there sports other than bowling where you have to wear someone else's shoes? I can't think of any, but if there were I probably would not like it any better than bowling. It's hard to wear other people's shoes, and, also, sort of icky.

I have always associated FX network as a channel for right-wing nuts. But after this documentary, I have to reasess my ignorant opinion(s). As a Native American(Navajo),thank you sincerely for your exposure of virtual condition of "the forgotten".....But original Americans!

I watched the documentary with tears running down my face. The things we saw were so hard to watch. How could this happen in America? The time has come for "Uncle Sam" to make it right. The native indians were here a lot longer than we have been and yet we have managed to push them in a little corner and pretend they are doing just fine because they have casinos. John McCain I hope you're paying attention because this is happening in your neighborhood on your watch. Thank you Mr Morgan Spurlock for taking the time to do this and for really opening our eyes to the way things are. The heartbreak and tears seen on their faces to me is unacceptable and it's time to make things right.

MaMAWOLF.

You have a kind heart, thank you for the honesty of your spoken words.

Each and every one of us in this world will live in a short span of time. 100, 80, 70 or even coming in at birth, in each case we have a opportunity to live and treat every living thing with respect.

For some it is hard and others it's easy to bark words without thinking.

With a sincere heart and compassion we can live a good life.

I was impressed with how everything was portrayed, because it was honest...I grew up in Farmington, never lived on the reservation, but many of my relatives are out there. Part of it was dishearted to watch, but part of it was enlightening. I encouraged many people to watch it, and I am sure they took something away from it, as did I...

I didn't get to see the episode but did he get to grub down on some mutton? It's always fun to watch the expression of someone eating ach'ii for the first time.
The director also did the "Super Size Me" about the nastiness of Mickie D's. Seems like he's a man with a mission.

I remember traveling in a pickup truck on a long dirt road for 2 hours to meet a relative who lived in a hogan. I was amazed one evening when I took a walk and looked around and realized I could see in all directions for miles. Not one sound could be heard. It felt like being the last person on earth. I keep the thought in mind when I need to think about a quiet place. Life is hard on the rez but if you live it you learn to survive it. Grandma sure could chop fire wood at age 70. She lived to be 86. A strong Native she was.

Hooray for Mr. Spurlock. I wish he would do another thirty days up north like in Lakota Country, you think conditions are bad in the Southwest he should go where it is really, really bad. Or maybe Anadarko,Oklahoma.

??? Which staff writer wrote this article because I really would love to reference these lines written.
A rainbow is made more beautiful by the diversity of color it provides. The more vibrant each individual color shines, the more beautiful the rainbow as a whole becomes. Diversity in our community is the anchor on each end of the rainbow, and only if we allow such vibrant freedom to every color will we realize our pot of gold.
We should all be so willing to walk from time to time in someone else's shoes.
It certainly would make for an interesting journey, and an educational one.

The article in question is an editorial. As such, it does not have an individual author, but is considered the work of the editorial board as a whole.
