the following are some of the articles that one can read supporting the argument that education is so bad in the usa. have you read them?
one of the articles says that the usa is below average where education is concerned. and the author bases this summary on a study done with 49 countries. do you know there are over 190+ countries in the world? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereig...
do you see anything wrong with the study and the conclusion of the author at all? for heaven sake, the author is german. need I say more? he looks like a liberal drug user.

here we have an author who rants about the usa not being in the top 5 where education is concerned. and I'm thinking to myself.. what's wrong with being in the top 10 in the world?

bottomline... in the last century, the usa contributed the most where major inventions that benefited mankind are concerned. anybody with any common sense would know that that doesn't happen if the education is so bad as all these idiots are saying. right?
if mainland china is so smart, why haven't they invented anything major in the last century? for that matter, what did all these countries where we are suppose to have so many smart people invent in the last century?
if they are all so smart, why did the usa have to go and pull them out of all these wars that they constantly get involved in?
like I said, think outside the box. don't believe everything you read. especially if the authors are not American.
If you want to compare us with straw hut societies, then yes of course. I have evaluated enough schools to know education in this country is dropping like pigeon poop from a Venetian sky. You sound like an angry teacher who can't even teach a kid to read age level material. Pathetic.

Bad analogy because a great many of these unionized teachers are doing absolutely nothing except collecting paychecks for doing little to nothing in the classroom. They are lowering the IQ of this great country because they don't have the drive, interest or ability to teach. Believe me, I've seen more than I cared to. People are generally too stupid to realize they are not giving their kids a chance when they send them to public schools.....not all but most. You sound a little anxious...you should feel bad. Your kids have suffered for your gullible belief in a shitty system.

bad analogy?

when I read what you write, I think of a pea-brained, bitter POS who is anti-American. why do I say this with no doubt in my mind?..because you talk as if you know every teacher in the the usa is corrupt and incompetent...you scream out your belief that the usa is collapsing all around us. and you say so with this arrogant tone.

all because of a "few" experiences you have encountered in your lifetime of bad teachers.

I mean let's face it. just how many teachers have you known in your lifetime time? at most.. 100? and you base your rant that all teachers and the teaching system in the ENTIRE usa is so bad. on 100 that you met?

hey, moron. there are millions of teachers in the usa. educating millions of americans every year. that's reality.

take your messed up opinion. and jump off a cliff.

Sounds like you're one of those angry flunky teachers who can't even teach his dog to poop outside. I have a great deal of experience and feel quite qualified to share my opinions about education today. Clearly, you are very insecure about it and maybe embarrassed you didn't have the insight to place your kids in a more stimulating academic environment. Like many, you want to mooch off the govt. rather than take responsibility for providing the best education for your children. You want others to subsidize it and so.....you get what you get.....a shitty education. A teaching degree is so easy to get, it's no wonder there are so many crappy ones.

As I've said, there are excellent schools out there just as there are fabulous teachers. The public system has failed in almost every city although there are only a few that are decent. Parents usually think their kids are doing so well when they bring home the A's. When teachers teach to the test to bring up the test scores, these same parents think their kids are geniuses. More often than not, they falter in college because they never really knew how to work hard and think.

Reduce govt. involvement and make parents more responsible....there would be hope. Crybaby mooches like yourself have been bringing this country down. Such a shame.

More like a fiscal conservative and social moderate. Due to all these fluffy liberal policies, schools have been gradually dumbing students down. This country did not thrive based on socialistic principles.....it did so because people could take risks without so much govt. interference. If someone wanted to work hard, they could grab the 'dream'. Today, the govt has created a caste system which keeps people in poverty, uneducated and dependent. Our public schools perpetuate this along with crushing indiv. thought and expression. Govt. educators indoctrinate the youngest into a group think mentality. Teachers track kids and keep them into their groups with little chance to climb out. These educators teach to the average and below. Those above average get to 'take messages to the office and help the teacher grade papers'. My sample size is quite large so don't worry too much about my expertise on this subject. I have been in many public schools who have the newest technology, incredible soccer/football fields, shiny desks but very average students and worse. Parents seem to think the fancier looking school, the smarter kids. That is a ruse. Parents and taxpayers must realize it doesn't cost more money to teach students in ways that will allow them to think critically, creatively and with great depth.

Now quit whining about your miserable life. Quit expecting others to throw their bones to you and demanding steak instead.

You should rephrase that. Our facilities rate at the top but our education is pathetic. We spend more on education than any nation so common sense would think our students would be #1.Not so,teachers unions have fked it all up.The unions care nothing about students and educating them.

I may agree with you about some places in the usa like Chicago and new York. but the usa is more than just Chicago and new York.

especially in places where you have illegals clogging up the system when they don't even know how to speak English to begin with.

bottomline, you don't get people inventing things if they are stupid like you people are saying.

I hardly think our public school system is pumping out inventors. The wickedly smart will be so....even in public school. Good private schools are usually better equipped to challenge the best and brightest. Public school teachers are usually not as bright as those speciall students.
