Human over-population is a serious threat to our environment. I favor couples voluntarily having no more than one child.

Move to China. You'd be welcome there with that attitude.

Sterilize the inner cities and our over population problem would be solved.

The United States has more wilderness, and far more crop production than Africa.

Americans spend less for food than any other nation on the planet and while some may be hungry, I don't know of any that are starving.

I think we can still afford to let folks have more than one child.

You see children starving in part's of the world.....some fault lies with their religion, like the Catholic's not allowing birth control, actaully leads to suffering and often death, through starvation.......all because of ancient thinking.....

When I was a kid, I lived in Queens Village which was a very Irish Catholic neighborhood at that time (50's, early 60's). Our next door neighbors were Irish Catholics with 10 children, and a family down the block were also Irish Catholics and had 7 girls, and their 8th child was their only boy.

49 million Americans live in "food insecure" households. That translates into not knowing where your next meal is coming from. I just hope this British lunatic sect are able to feed all their little stinkers.

When Obama took office the percentage of food insecure persons was 11%.
Now, it is 15%.

Any correlation?

The correlation is between the rate of poverty, and the Republican-led House of Represenatives.

The correlation is between the rate of poverty, and The Obamaniac's Stalinist socialist policies.

The Obamaniac stands for one thing, and one thing ONLY: Evil. PURE EVIL.

I don't think so when Obama couldn't get even 1 Democratic vote on his budget proposal.

The government cannot constitutionally force you to buy a product by virtue of you're existence. I have no doubt that within the next few years Obamacare will be either repealed in it's entirety or ruled unconstitutional. SCOTUS HAS BEEN WRONG BEFORE, YA KNO.

Far from encouraging women to have children, I think any woman wanting to have a child should have to apply for a licence to do so, pay a fee of $10,000
and undergo counselling before being given permission to breed. The Chinese " one child " policy was very sensible, but was buggered by the cultural preference for male children.

I just wish people would consider whether they can afford to support another child before they have one. Although I think the world needs more people like a toe needs fungus, I support people's right to reproduce as many times as they see fit - IF they can provide for those children and not end up on welfare living off the taxpayers. I'd like to see public assistance programs changed so that if you have another kid after you're already on assistance, you get kicked off. Unfortunately, that would probably just lead to more abortions rather than irresponsible people becoming responsible.

We spend less per capita only because we have so much more money than much of the world and less taxes than the rest, so proportionate to our income, we don't spend much for food. In Egypt, they choose whether to eat meat or get their kids an education. Most don't drive cars and many live in family homes that have no mortgage-and they spend the majority of their income just eating and not fast foods/restaurant food.

Still I agree-children are a personal decision/blessing. Not something that should be imposed or denied us by society or government.
