Virginia Patriot wrote: <quoted text> I can supply a near indefinite amount of references that support my ideologies, claims and posts from many sources. Even when the American Psychiatric Association removed homosexuality as being classified as a mental disorder in 1973, they admit that it was due to political and public pressures rather than science. No, "they" did not. Just ONE member wrote that. The APA cannot be influenced by such activities. I was there.

This is why I posted the unbiased links so that you may engage in your own research that confirms my findings. Unfortunately it is becoming apparent that I may have overestimated your intelligence in performing such an elementary task. Do you realize how delusional and insane you are? Of course not! I mean it. I have concluded that you are indeed insane. You belong in that red brick building for a little shock treatment.

He's a human being trying to survive in an unreal world that you guys are trying to perpetuate.

Mona Lott wrote: <quoted text> The APA admitted nothing of the kind, liar. And yes, there is no end of NARTH's bullshit all over the web. That doesn't make ANY of it true. How about if I use the APA's own words and decisions? The American Psychiatric Association’s Board of Trustees passed the decision on December 15, 1973 to declassify homosexuality as a mental illness and subsequently released a statement that rejected legal discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. In the publication of its decision to remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), the board cited “review of the changing social norms and growing gay-rights activism require the removal of this classification.” In Homosexuality and American Psychiatry, Ronald Bayer states that "the decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental illness was the product of years of political pressure applied by gay activists. Judd Marmor, Vice President of the APA at the time of the decision and a prevailing advocate for the declassification of homosexuality, was openly arguing by 1972 that conservative psychiatrists were opposed to the declassification of homosexuality on the sole basis of moral and social judgments. Heinz Lehman, a member of the Nomenclature Committee, is on record admitting that his decision to vote to remove homosexuality as a mental illness was due solely by political pressures. Robert Spitzer, another member of the Nomenclature Committee said that he would never have supported the decision if not for the efforts of Ron Gold of the National Gay Task Force. Robert Spitzer did eventually agree to declassify homosexuality as a mental illness, however he urged the creation of another classification for homoesxuals, known as “sexual orientation disturbance".

I am not licensed to practice medicine, but you don't have to be very smart for anyone to make the same deductions that I have about you. Yes it is based on responses made through mediums such as social sites. They are very revealing. You think you are being real slick with your stats and "facts", but a lot of people see right through that facade. You're nuts man!

Junior Esquire wrote: <quoted text> I retired a year ago from an industry that is considered friendly to gays. After thirty years of observing gays, I conclude that they are not a homogeneous group. In fact, they have a barbell shaped distribution. On one hand, the group we referred to as the "Good Gays", could be characterized as good employees. They were good workers, honest, pleasant, they interacted well with the passengers, had straight as well as gay friends, had no problem achieving longevity, some even stayed till retirement. Except for their sexual orientation, they were almost indistinguishable from straights. You probably wouldn't see these people posting on Topix, as they probably are too busy enjoying life. On the other hand, you have the group we referred to as (excuse the expression), "Queers". These people walked around like they had a chip on their shoulder. They were generally unpleasant to be around, and they did not interact well with the passengers. They had no straight friends, and they had difficulty achieving longevity. None made it to retirement, and a disproportionate number were fired for cause, most commonly, theft of company property. These are the type of gays that spend their lives on Topix. I suspect that for many straights, such as "ToManyLaws", their only exposure to a gay, or gays, has been from the group of "Good Gays", and they don't have a clue as to the shit that populates the other end of the barbell. so your saying gays are just like everyone else? we already knew that. Glad you caught up...
