President Obama was particulary vicious and divisive in front of a staged Union Mob in Michigan today. He shamed the Office of President by slandering all who dare disgree with raising taxes and doing absolutely nothing meaningful about reducing Wildly out of control Govt Spending and refused to support ANY action to reduce our ever increasiing extinction level DEBT.
He was magnificent. America's children don't stand a chance against The Obama.
Yada yada yada. Why don't you do a study on the lives of children in Right to Work States. Highest childhood poverty in the nation ... but I assume you're ok with that? Just as you were probably OK with GWB charging his 2 wars.

<quoted text>i assume you meant someone down on his luck should receive help...but I don't think most conservatives believe that.
You'll remember during the republican primaries debate, the moderator asked what should happen to people without health insurance...and the crowd broke out in applause when someone yelled "let him die". It's not a stretch they would approve of letting them go hungry.
Raising rates is a needed action. We are talking about reverting to the Clinton tax rates...and the 90s were great to the rich
Yes, people down on their luck should get help. Most conservatives do believe that. It's the ones scamming the system that are a problem. A lot of high incomes do it also before you go there.

Broke out in [applause]? Are you sure.

Raising taxes is necessary along with spending cuts. Neither one will solve the problem by itself. Everybody's taxes were higher under Clinton. Everyone got a tax break under Bush. The problem is the credits and deductions favored the higher incomes.

You'll have to expand on that. Who defined rape? The last I checked it's a crime under state law. Who really cares what two morons have to say?

Who voted against equal pay for equal work? Isn't discrimination against federal law?

Yes, that seed was planted a long time ago. Bush signed the bill.

Actually America has enough rich people. According to the Forbes 400 list of the richest in America they have more wealth than the first 150 million citizens. That's just the top 400 individuals.

Too bad that Obama does not respect the office of the presidency nor America and all its people. I guess that happens when you pander to the special interest groups which do not represent all of America.

Soooooo... a billionaire (which there are what, a few dozen of them?) stuffs his money into a mattress but a Noble Poor Person is the engine of the economy?
He doesn't invest in stocks, expands whatever business he had that created his wealth, buy luxury stuff which gets made in factories? He just stuffs his evil money into his evil mattress?
And if we create a huge class of people that are dependent upon getting free stuff how does that improve society? If a person can get just as much money and goodies from the gubbermint FOR YEARS (2 years on unemployment!) as he can get from an entry-level job, why get out of bed and work? And how does an entire class of people sitting on their butts because it doesn't pay to succeed help the economy?
Gee, what is Obama going to do when there is no more rich to soak or he has dropped the level of taxpayers such a significant amount that there are more tax-takers on the dole. He is working hard at that fact as there are more people on welfare and getting food stamps than ever before.

The hypothetical question was about a 30 to 40 year old man who could afford healthcare but chose not to have it. In the so called land of liberty one makes those decisions for himself. No hospital would refuse him and it appears he has the means to pay a bill over time. He wasn't a destitute man.

How will you learn anything if you don't listen. Seems like that is a common problem in D.C.; Everyone wants to talk but no one wants to listen. Gramps used to say "You can't learn anything with your mouth open, boy!" I suppose the same can be said for having your ears closed.

Wouldn't you have more rich people if you helped more poor people in need?:)
No, not really as the inspiration to work hard comes from within and there are people on welfare for years. Whereas there are people that come to America with 2 thin dimes to work hard to later become billionaires. Not that the rich should not aspire to help out the poor or fellow man, but they should not be forced to have morality. Being good of spirit should not be by edict, but desire to better the world. Bill Gates has learned that fact.
