Obama is fiddling as Rome burns.

Call me crazy, but if YOU were in hock so deep that you had no hope of paying it off for decades...if-ever, would YOU have the balls to throw a party for almost a million people...and put on lavish invitation-only parties for your co-conspirators? Some piece of work.

A man of honor and integrity would have a house party for a hundred and serve cold-cuts and soft drinks as a show of his commitment to austerity in all things in his new term. THAT would be a man I could look up-to despite his past failures and lack of legitimacy and effectiveness.

crazy. The ceremony is a celebration of our country, institutions and continuity. Perhaps it might inspire some Republicans to get patriotic and get onboard with the rest of the country. It is less extravagant than last time, fitting the times.

More drivel from the Santa Fe sock puppet. You belong in an institution.

I am grateful for Mrs. Obama. I don't think we could hope for a better Black First Lady.

If the Mrs. really cared about black kids - she would start a "keep your legs crossed till marriage" campaign.

Stop grinching - all presidents have inaugurations, parties, etc. and it is a way to celebrate our democracy and that the right man won.

White people are freaking out.

Be patient. It's hard for Whites to admit they were the first generation who didn't care about their own childrens' future.

LOL, I stand behind my post. Just because it's a tradition doesn't mean it's smart or has to be. A good President would seize this opportunity to show us all by example what needs to be done. Now he has no reason EVER to ask ANY of us to tighten our belts. If it's okay for our government to be in a deep hole, I guess it's okay for the rest of us to live on credit until our homes and cars are repo'd. This is one helluva way for young kids to learn about economics.

"Mommy!, mister Obama says we can't pay our bills...but he's having this big party today; I don't understand! You always tell us we don't have money for birthday presents because we need to pay our heating bill. I'm confused!"

Obama didn't run to represent all Americans. Obama was very clear that ONLY those who had no gratitude for the blessings of being American would be his "Homies".

Yor're not crazy at all. You are simply observing things at face value. Something that Obama is clearly incapable of. Hence our nation's dilemma.
