And then these people have the nerve to say, "I told you so." They are the reason we lost...the reason America lost.
Then add to that the comments of Todd Akin and Richard Murdock, which screwed the Romney campaign, and I say conservatives have no one to blame but themselves.

Not all conservatives as many did work hard for Romney; but probably the ones complaining now are at fault.

I can see well enough to read your posts, and you wrote that Romney "would have saved this country from Obama's destruction", so I'll ask you again: What about Romney would have saved this country? TARP? Romneycare? Medicare Part D? Steel tariffs? The Patriot Act? NCLB?
Romney and/or Ryan supported all of these big government programs. So what would save us from Obama's big government? Romney's not-quite-so-big government? Romney wanted to take the USA in the same direction as Obama -- just not as rapidly. The voters should have had better choice than just the not-as-bad-as-Obama candidate. I'm not denying that Romney is a more competent manager than Obama, but democracy is healthier when a challenger consistently challenges an incumbent rather than running a defensive campaign as if he were the incumbent.
I could not disagree more. If you think Romney is anything like Obama at all, then you're about as smart as a box of rocks.

Romney knows that government has to be cut down to size - not the private sector. Romney knows how to get America's finances in order...and he would have. He knows that it is entitlements (among other things) that are braking America's back. Obama is TRYING to break America's back.

Romney spoke of returning to our founding principles during the debates - so did Ryan. Weren't you listening? Did you have too much st*t stuck between your ears? Did you miss Romney's talk of a need for a strong economy in order to project strength around the world...a strong economy is essential for national security...

Romney is not as Conservative as I would have liked. Nevertheless, he is exactly what America needs right now. Obama won - America lost.

Governor Romney can say whatever he wants, then next week he can reset the etch-a-sketch and flip-flop to whatevr is ectorally expedent at the time. Actions speak louder than words, and what are Romney's actions? Romneycare, support for TARP, Medicare Part D, NCLB, etc. You Romney supporters on this thread have responded to specific criticism of him with generalities about what a great guy he is, and that he's not as bad as Obama. Obama advocates socialism, and Romney advocates socialism lite (or -- more precisely, neofeudalism).

Well, seeing as BO feels like he can dump anything on us now, let's see how far he runs this country into the ground. It may have taken fewer years to gain ground under Romney, but it's a given that it will take decades to undo the damage BO wreaks on us all. I don't think we'll give up the ghost just yet, because there are still some folks out there who care more about this country than themselves, and they will be our only hope. Dependency is a deal killer. BO keeps pushing it to try to force people to think a certain way...initmating that they can't do anything for themselves. It's time for people to wake up out of their comas and pull themselves up by their bootstraps, they are the masters of their own destiny, not BO and his minions. We are not done...not yet. Have faith.

I don't disagree, but "BO" will only be in office four more years, and he has an opposition controlled House to oppose him (even if it is run by that crook, John Boehner), whose caucus will probably grow (or at least get more entenched) in the '14 off-year elections. The Senate may either go over to the GOP, or at least they will probably gain seats (although one should never undersetimate Mitch McConnell's ability to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory) and can still fillibuster President obama's programs if necessary. And even if Reince Prebus can't win elections, he will at least keep hauling in the cash from Obama-haters to keep him accountable.
Now, suppose Governor Romney had won, with his socialism lite agenda? Such a change in voting patterns might very well have meant a GOP-takeover of the Senate (but Harry Reid could still fillibuster), Republicans in Congress would not dare oppose their man in the White House, and deficits would probably continue to mount, but with "BO" to blame anymore. Democrats would probably retake the Seante in '14 and at least make significant gains in the House. Romney would probably stagger to a narrow re-election in '16, but have an ineffectual second term with DEMS making more congressional gains in '18. Then, after eight years of big government Republican rule, the electorate would probably be raedy to sweep a liberal (perhaps Andrew Cuomo, assuming that Sandy doesn't come back to bite him) back into the White House.
When the Republicans are ready to nominate young limited-government candidates on their ticket, and have such leading Congress (including women and ethnic minorities), thing still won't be easy, but we would have a reason to hope for significant change for the better. But Romney, Boehner, McConnell, Prebus, Karl Rove, and Jeb Bush amke up a recipe for continued ineffectualness.
