If they need extras to play the part of drunks or dopers or theives, you've got a plentiful supply, and they don't need to rehearse.

Do you even know where Carrizizo is? You can go back to your meth, now. Be sure to shut the door to your trailer, as I gather it's a tad chilly up there.

Shove this up your arse:

The crime rate in Murphysboro is considerably higher than the national average across all communities in America from the largest to the smallest, although at 56 crimes per one thousand residents, it is not among the communities with the very highest crime rate. The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Murphysboro is 1 in 18. Based on FBI crime data, Murphysboro is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Illinois, Murphysboro has a crime rate that is higher than 90% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.

Separately, it is always interesting and important to compare a city's crime rate with those of similarly sized communities - a fair comparison as larger cities tend to have more crime. NeighborhoodScout has done just that. With a population of 13,342, Murphysboro has a combined rate of violent and property crime that is very high compared to other places of similar population size. Regardless of whether Murphysboro does well or poorly compared to all other cities and towns in the US of all sizes, compared to places with a similar population, it fares badly. Few other communities of this size have a crime rate as high as Murphysboro.

The crime data that NeighborhoodScout used for this analysis are the seven offenses from the uniform crime reports, collected by the FBI from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies, and include both violent and property crimes, combined.

Now let us turn to take a look at how Murphysboro does for violent crimes specifically, and then how it does for property crimes. This is important because the overall crime rate can be further illuminated by understanding if violent crime or property crimes (or both) are the major contributors to the general rate of crime in Murphysboro.

NeighborhoodScout's research shows that Murphysboro's violent crime rate is 3 per one thousand inhabitants, which is about average for all communities in America, across all population sizes. Violent crimes that are tracked and included in this rate are armed robbery, aggravated assault, forcible (not statutory) rape, and murder and non-negligent manslaughter. Roughly similar to the national average, our analysis shows that your chance of becoming a victim of violent crime in Murphysboro is one in 366.

In addition, NeighborhoodScout found that a lot of the crime that takes place in Murphysboro is property crime. Property crimes that are tracked for this analysis are burglary, larceny over fifty dollars, motor vehicle theft, and arson. In Murphysboro, your chance of becoming a victim of a property crime is one in 19, which is a rate of 53 per one thousand population.

I look a lot like the older Benjamin Button, same face just a little taller. Is it worth my effort to go to Carrizozo? Maybe i could play the Shaman.

Paleface, why don't you get a life? Evidently, you're wasting your time with your displaced anger, when you know that, deep down inside, you're really unsatisfied with your own existence on some level.

Not much has happened in Carrizozo since the Southern Pacific Railroad abandoned its operations. Many of us remember all the activity of the 1950's and 1960's at the nearby military sites of Red Canyon and Stallion Site. Many Nike Missile crews trained here to defend our country. Some of us have many memories of the Lyric Theater, The Steak House, the Yucca Bar and Grill, The Cibola Hotel, BLM Mercantile, the two barbershops and other places of business along this soon to be famous street.

This old town has needed a boost for a very long time. Maybe something positive will come of it. Don't forget to stop at Paul's eatery! CHS '56

Do they still have a soda fountain located in Carrizozo? We use to stop in there during school field trips when we went to The School of Mines in Socorro.
