Republicans previously supported mandate for contraceptives
Since President Barack Obama moved to require Catholic hospitals and universities to offer their employees contraceptive health benefits, Republicans have rushed to accuse the administration of an unprecedented attack on religious freedoms.

The Republicans actions are political. They are hypocrites because since 1998 most of them have voted for mandatory contraceptive coverage, including Ella/Plan B, in their own health insurance, which includes Darrell Issa, Rick Santorum, Roy Blunt, Newt, Mitch McConnell, and others that are protesting the loudest.
Mitt Romney and Senator Scott Brown approved the same coverage in the MA state health insurance mandate.

None of them supported forcing religious organizations to pay for free contraceptives for anyone.
