Dominionist Decoder: What Sarah Palin Really Means by Fire in Her Belly

I’ve been saying for a while now that the mainstream media doesn’t “get” Sarah Palin. Last week, when the astute Lawrence O’Donnell equated her with Trump, I understood his reasoning, but disagreed with the premise. Sarah Palin isn’t Donald Trump, and when she speaks of a “fire in her belly” she’s not using that term politically, but religiously. She means she has a fire of God in her belly to lead the country to Jesus. She means she is anointed to lead us. She has a fire in her belly alright, but it’s not the fire of politics as the pundits know it.

Many of those who consider themselves fundimental Christians actualy have very little understanding, and even less knowledge of Jesus' message to us.

For example the "Christian Dominition" movement mentioned in the story flies in the face of Jesus' admonition to "render unto Caesar."

And, Jesus story of Lazeres and the rich man, the camel passing through the needle, the prodgal son; all lost on them. Lost.

Jesus renounced wealth, and earthly posessions. The modern-day 'Christian fundamentalists' worship Mammon, not Jesus.
And they don't get it.

Mr. Bill, I'd like to point out that another point this story and this group points out to fundamentalist Christians is this groups efforts to work with the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on new bills like the 2006 Respect for America's Fallen Heroes Act which prohibits protests such as those of Fred Phelps from taking place near funeral proceedings for fallen military personnel.

This is so true. Try telling that to preachers who are making a fortune from their congregations and encouraging their flock to think bigger and better so they can tithe more.

If the Miltary and Houses of Worship are equally Dem and Repub, Lib and Con, then why are so many overseas ballots disqualified on technicalities (if they are sent out to begin with)? And why are so many Churches and Colleges vehemently anti-Military? Especially when there's a Repub in the White House?
