The Libertarian Party on Sunday picked former Republican Rep. Bob Barr to be its presidential candidate after six rounds of balloting.

Barr beat research scientist Mary Ruwart, who also sought the party's presidential nomination unsuccessfully in 1983, on the final ballot. The vote was 324-276.

The stench of Bush is pushing Republicans into the Libertarian Party?

I don't blame them - the GOP is making the likes of Larry Craig hide in airport mens rooms to escape the worst president in American history - Chimpy McBush.

Barr was one of the most conservative, anti-abortion, gun-totting, tax hating, hard right wing conservatives. He was one of the leaders trying to get Clinton impeached.

He wasn't considered a Libertarian until he came out against Bush's invasion of privacy acts back in 2002. Even though he voted for the Patriot act, he wanted "sun-setting" clauses in the act.

He's also against same sex marriage. Accept he just wants laws that say the Feds won't recognize it. He thinks any Federal laws that prevents States from recognizing the same is not a law the Feds should be passing. Overreach of Federal authority.

He's definetly libertarain. I think we all are to a certain extent. I think he's going to pull alot of mostly from McCain's far right.

The fact that he wants out of Iraq might hurt him with a few. But he can probably spin some convinving poitns for them. Not many are actually happy with Iraq.

I've always liked Barr, but this is not a good thing. It's going to be another squeaker.....the last thing we need is for votes to be sucked away from McCain.

I thought Barr was a member of the Baath Party.

If not, why is he wearing the official Baath Party moustache?

Barr is further right than McCain by a longshot. I'm sure Rush and Hannity will warn the far righters that they are splitting the ticket, but I think many will still flock to Barr's ultra-conservative message.

McCain will be jumping through hoops again to get the evangilist vote. Who knows, he may even accept Hagee's endorsement again....if Hagee offers it again.

He may dig up the bloated, rotting corpse of Jerry Falwell and suck up to him once again - after calling him an "agent of intolerance" in 2000.

Presidential Candidate Obama is in a unique position an extreme white and black racist person would say he's not Black because of his mother and on the other side he is not white because of his father. Well, as racist as I may sound, as a person with racial enlightenment will join me to say; they are both quite correct. He is a man of color and represents the interwoven fabric of our country. We must remember he will only be like all of the candidates seeking the candidacy 'an image on the soap box of the administrative government that is seeking to lead our country'. At least one fourth of these administrative leaders have been an active part of our administrative government for decades -- whether they are of the inside or outside circle.

Black v. White, far less than two third of the King's men supporting any of the candidate for office are minority, let known black. This is a racial view point which is quite different from a racial observation to influence a racially skewed point of view which allows the ugly head of bigotry and racism to foster a division of people that want Candidate Hillary Clinton and here electoral administration to be the President of all the American citizens and justly including on a level playing field in a perfect square all colors, cultures, and creeds, when blended together brings out the core of the American culture.

As for Candidate President McCain and the United States third party presidential candidates, 2008 Bob Barr who represented the 7th District of Georgia in the U. S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003 a responsible nominee of the thirty-seven (37) year old Libertarian Party, they are courting Democrats, Republicans and, Independents wants a government of content, commitment, pledge, and results. As the Democrats fail to realize they are fumble the ball, clipping each other, and fail to yield to statesmanship but rather practice politically bashing in their scrimmage game the Super bowl of Super Bowls 2998 President of the United States of America. When reminded of the rule of engagement by media, they are so caught-up they say turning a death ear, donít worry we will be all right. President Candidates McCain, Bob Barr and others, I believe we can agree on one thing,--- very interesting.

Donít get me wrong I love the two-party system our forefather foretold of but, in the course of the history of the United States of America, the original two parties are no longer leading this great nation and our constitution remains intact. What will the change be for the United States of America this 2008? Will a central coalition ever come into play before the super bowl?

Let find the candidate that is focus on the moral values of the nation, or the character of the administrative leaders that will be sworn in with him/her. Let elect the candidate that pull together our congress, the administration, the states, the parties and the communities the health care, foreign affairs, financial stability, and the education/business to lead this country into the advancement of our 21ST Century government.

The social, political, economical war between our political parties must stop and can with an appropriate centralized coalition of principle!

In it would a disaster for an election administration supporting Obama to be color conscious and not color blind.

It would be twice as disastrous and foolish for Candidate Obama to say, "I want to run this race as fast as I can, so I must cut off my left leg it seems darker or lighter then my right leg. This race for him requires and demands self awareness, truth, and spirit.

Our candidates must address the needs of all the people and meet the needs of the citizens of the U.S.A. It will take the whole country to raise a great nation like this one!

All with ears to listen let them hear!

God Bless America!

EXCELLENCES

Sean Hannity is talking about Alternative political party's giving the election to the Democrats, and I think Rush is still undecided where he stands.

What you called blame, I see call "analysis". I stated Barr will pull votes from McCain, and Rush and Hannity will try to direct votes one way or another.

Where did you get "blame" from? Was my analysis wrong in your eyes?

Bob Barr is just another career politician who will bend whichever way the wind blows if it means getting votes, and will take up residence in the pockets of any big corporation as quick as any politician. In short, a bag of hot air.

Not to be trusted, particularly when tax payer's money is involved.

Obama's Left-Wing Supporters See Soaring Oil Prices as Opportunity for Revolutionary Change

Dateline USA....

The specter of revolution is rising.
Like Islamists who believe they must destroy Israel in order to conquer "the two Americas" and Europe, and Soviet Communists who used manmade famine and forced collectivization to crush the Russian and Ukrainian countryside, radical left-wing Democrats backing Barack Obama hope that escalating energy and food prices will spell doom for suburban and rural America.
In other words, where most Americans see a crisis, the radicals sense an opportunity--to overthrow the established order.
Rural Americans will feel the pain most immediately and intensely. The radicals regard America's predominantly white towns, villages, and surviving family farms as hopelessly conservative pockets of resistance to the left-wing global agenda. Hence, the antidemocratic Left's crusade against allegedly anthropogenic global warming. Fear of manmade global warming is a politically potent weapon that has been and will continue to be used to prevent the nation from producing its way to a more prosperous and secure economic future.(Hence, too, the Left's jihad against mainstream Christianity and Judaism, which are seen by radicals as inherently reactionary faiths--in contrast with the Black Liberation Theology of Obama's present and former pastors and the political Islam of Hamas, which has endorsed his candidacy.)
The radicals' real goal is forced urbanization, a permanent end to the suburban, rural and semi-rural ways of life that represent freedom and independence for tens of millions of ordinary Americans. It takes an energy crisis to destroy a village (or a suburban mall or shopping center), the radicals whisper when the media is not around.
Understand, as Obama likes to say, what is at stake if you reside in one of the areas targeted for extinction or, at the very least, total transformation, by the radical Left. The candidate of global change (in the interest of Third World tyranny) wants to take away your SUVs, pickup trucks, and cars--any and all privately owned and operated vehicles, no matter how small and fuel-efficient--your barbecue grills, your swimming pools (and your right to create swimming ponds), your guns (for hunting, target practice, and self-defense), your public and private golf courses, your vacations at the beach and in the mountains, and, finally, your homes and farms. Your suburban and rural schools, too, must go; just as they destroyed neighborhood city schools decades ago, the radicals won't be satisfied until your children are crammed into crowded urban classrooms, where they can be more effectively indoctrinated and prepared for forced labor on behalf of state-sponsored social programs. A new wave of community organizing--Obama's claim to fame, after all--will require legions of brainwashed, urban youths. There will be so many storefronts to staff, campaigns to manage, minds to influence, younger brains to wash....
Obama's plan for change amounts to a revolution--from the top. Like a modern-day Mao in capitalist clothing, Obama can be expected to mobilize big government and elements of big business--Washington and Wall Street--to wipe out Main Street. If elected President, he will try to use the liberal media and the elite intellectual and professional/managerial classes, as well as the constant threat of violence from a seething urban underclass (the lumpenproletariat in Marxist jargon), to eradicate the middle and working classes that stand in the way of "another world."
