A primary primer
#1 Jan 12, 2008
Michigan politicians are a sorry lot...they can't even arrange for a straightforward primary without all sorts of controversy, invasion of privacy. exceptions, non-sensical rules, and meaningless votes.

DEM'S DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR VOTE!!!!!
Due to violating party rules, the Democratic National Committee has stripped Michigan of all its delegates to the Democratic National Convention. You can vote in the Democrats primary, but no Michigan delegates will be sent to the DNC to vote for you.
As if that isnt bad enough, most candidates running for the Democrats nomination didnt even register to be on the ballot or have withdrawn their names. Here is a list of people who will be on the ballot: Hillary Clinton, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. So if you wanted to vote for Barack Obama, John Edwards, or any other candidate youre SOL because they wont even be on the ballot.
Instead of casting a meaningless vote on the Democrats ticket, you can vote in the Republican primary, helping bring a win-win ballot for the 2008 Presidential election by voting for Ron Paul. The war in Iraq has consistently rated the highest issue important to voters. Another issue not polled which Im sure matters to voters is the restoration of our civil liberties.
Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who is against the Iraq war and for the restoration of our civil liberties. All of the Democrats oppose the war in Iraq, so by voting for Ron Paul in the Republican primary you can help create a win-win 2008 Presidential ballot. It will be an anti-war, pro civil liberties Democrat versus an anti-war, pro civil liberties Republican. No matter who wins the election, the war will end and our civil liberties will be restored.

Who should you Michiganders vote for???
A true Republican.
Someone with experience...
Paul serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee (having been on the Western Hemisphere and the Asia and Pacific subcommittees); the Joint Economic Committee; and the Committee on Financial Services (as Ranking Member of the Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade and Technology subcommittee, and Vice-Chair of the Oversight and Investigations subcommittee).
Paul served as honorary chair of, and is a current member of, the Republican Liberty Caucus, a political action organization dedicated to promoting the ideals of individual rights, limited government and free enterprise within the Republican Party. He also hosts a luncheon every Thursday for the Liberty Committee, a group of liberty-minded representatives from both sides of the aisle. Paul is a founding member of the Congressional Rural Caucus, which deals with agricultural and rural issues, and the Congressional Wildlife Refuge Caucus.
Someone who knows about Michigan's recession, and can actually fix it. He has sound monetary policies.
