While I feel Mike is what we need and I agree with 99% of his ideas and standpoints and wish he would win the presidency because I truly feel we would live in a better country and world with him as our leader, I don't think he has a shot at hell in winning this. It's sad, I know it is, but it's the truth. I'll keep on supporting him and trying to spread his message, but, I mean, come on, how can you compete with mainstream media. Our country is following two democrats the closest: Barack and Hillary. Why? Because of mainstream media. The country follows what it's told and if Gravel was put into mainstream media he could just as well be on top of the polls. If Gravel was talked about as much as these two were, he would be a seriously considered candidate. Plus, Gravel's got way better standpoints than Barack and Hillary, plus his National Initiative plan.
I understand why Hillary is at the top: New York Senator and First Lady of Clinton but can someone tell me what brought Obama to the top of the polls as well?
As it is, NBC won't let Gravel on their debates because he hasn't raised enough money. MONEY???????? When did the amount of money you raise for your campaign have ANYTHING to do with your ideas and perspectives on issues? When did MONEY decide who should have a shot to debate on national TV to get their points across the nation? Money should NEVER be a deciding factor when deciding a presidential candidate. Sadly, it is.
This is why we should, but never will, have Mike Gravel as President Gravel:
