No. Why must we reward illegal aliens? Why should illegal aliens take places in colleges and universities that should be taken by Amerrican citizens and legal immigrants? In addition, I don't know if the Marines take single mothers. The DREAM act is just another step toward amnesty for all the illegal aliens in our country...more potential supporters for the Obama regime.

NO on the dream act, let it stay a dream!

It is the fault of the parents that entered our country/state illegaly.Children brought over by illegal parents or born to illegal parents should not get the same rights as Americans and legal Immigrants.
I sympathies for those children stuck, but if they get what they want, it leaves the door open for more abuse of our system with NO respect.
It is a hard line to take, but one that needs
to stand strong.
Remember the saying "give a finger they take a hand"? That is the case here, it will never be enough.
There will be cases were making a few legal
is the right thing to do, but not on such a large scale.

For every Michelle Rodriguez there is another "undocumented immigrant" committing crime in some other part of America.

Obviously, the majority of us have been here for generations. Our ancestors came here by ship and were documented before they were able to get off the Island to live in this new country they called America.

What I just do not understand is, "What part of "illegal" do you people don't get?" Please explain this one to me.

I can see why so many want to come here from Mexico. My heart hurts for them when I watch the news and see the way they live and all the violence they must endure, but the bottom line is that they need to rise up and take back their country and make it better. I overheard one very young Mexican mother talking the other day and she was saying how the plan is to over populate the US with Mexican babies so they can take back California. Hello! They can not even take back Mexico. So, when they make a mess out of California and all their violence has all come here (Oh, it is already here. What am I thinking?) then what? Who are they going to blame then? Oh, I am sure they will blame us for their failed plan and then what?

1. it has nothing to do with religion, all to do with national security.
2. Legal Immigrants to this day have to proof
a. no criminal background
b. having a skill that would not take away a job from an American
c. financialy stable, able to support themselfs AND their family
d. health
that is what legal Immigrants had to do then and now
the ones that do not pass, get turned away
so what makes you think , just because someone mangaged to enter illegaly, passed none of the above, get's to be in the front line?
how utterly ridiculous and insulting to anyone with common sense!

These articles always imply that we legal taxpayers owe these kids something because they had no control over their parentsí crossing the border illegally and bringing them with them. And the articles are written to elicit sympathy for these kids. How about some articles ADMONISHING PARENTS for the predicament that they put their kids in? Put the blame squarely where it belongs. Instead of looking for sympathy and un-earned breaks, Michelle and other illegal kids should be working for their US citizenship. If she loves this country as much as she says, prove it.

We taxpayers have already funded these illegal kidsí free K-12 education, free ESL classes, welfare, housing assistance, medical care, etc. Given that Michelle only cleans houses with her mother to make ends meet, who do you think paid for the birth/medical care of her son? Illegal students take up limited space in schools and put a strain in education budgets resulting in overcrowding, loss of programs, neglect of English speakers when the teacher must spend extra time working with non-English speakers, among other things. ESL classes are astronomically costly. And in CA, a new law was passed allowing illegal students to pay in-state tuition. And now they have the audacity to ask us for more? And if the author included this tidbit about Michelle and her mother cleaning houses to garner sympathy, it didnít work for me and others, Iím sure. Illegals are relegated to menial, dead-end jobs with no SSN. This is their lot in life for CHOOSING to come here illegally and remaining illegal.

Neither the DREAM Act nor amnesty is the answer. This would only ENCOURAGE illegals to continue to cross our borders and drain our dwindling resources. Millions of immigrants endured the cost and processes to become US citizens. Make ALL illegals go through the same hoops and processes that these immigrants had to go through and become a US citizen. Anything less would be a slap in the face to these new legal citizens. And we have lost our patience with our government wanting to reward illegals at legal taxpayersí expense.

I "get" that it really ticks you "I-got-mine-screw-you " types that you're terrified of brown people but hey... what are you gonna do? You really think you can force all the scary brown millions back?

Be mad at the corporations that INVITE them to work here for slave wages. That is the only way to change anything.

The bracero program (manual labor from Mexico) worked really well for 25 years until farmers found out they could pay Mexicans less if they hired them outside of the program. That began the mass migration of "illegals" to the US. Why didn't you old timers stop it right then?

Mexicans would love to have a similar work program if it guaranteed they could come back year after year LEGALLY to work their seasonal jobs instead of the gruesome ordeal of crossing the border. If any of you are parents, would you not do anything to help your kids? Well, you guys probably wouldn't, but most would.

The "illegal" kids that have grown up here and know no other country or culture... these are the innocent bystanders that you would throw out of the only home they've ever known. But wait! Money is more important than ANYTHING so screw the illegals, the poor, the middle-class, those without health-care, the lazy unemployed, anyone who takes one penny of your precious $$$.

This is America? I want my country back.

It is not about "brown", it's about so many people from different countries applying to enter, work legaly in the US. You do not seam to get the big picture, only think of Mexicans or brown
how is that balanced? more like tunnel vision.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the parents! If I make a mistake
then it is I that has to fix it, not anyone else, but that is just what a lot expect, fix the problem they created.

It was during Worldwar II that workers came from Mexico, because of the lack of manpower busy with the war effort, it was a contract, they got a work visa
for a certain amount of time or job. Once the contract was over they got paid.
they agreed to leave, a lot did not = breach of contract

It's about laws, rules that many of us follow.
To have a dream act and not check anyones background for any criminal record is just plain stupid and a huge security risk

All you PALEFACES out there, how does it feel ,losing your country day by day and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it! The only difference is when you took it from us, you used guns ,cannons and fire to destroy us, while we had bows and arrows. You still have guns. What are you waiting for? Use them on the foreigners like your ancestors used them on my ancestors. Good luck holding on to your country. You l need it with the Great Black Father and his cronies you have for leaders today. Snoop Dog, You are wrong again in so many ways. First, many Americans are struggling and do not have a lot of assets. It seems to me that many liberals want illegal immigrants to be treated better than American citizens and that is plain wrong. Nor do I believe that non U.S citizens should be treated equally as citizens and illegals should not even be in this country.
Secondly, whenever illegals recieve some favoritism by our government, it attracts more illegals to venture into America. That is also wrong.

Thirdly, illegal immigration is costing every single state that has an abundance of undocumented workers, that state is suffering miserably econically by that fact. California is bankrupt from a large part by intitlements to illelgals by social programs, school programs, and crime that we cannot afford. We do not need programs that attract more illegals here. Nor do we need to allow the crime of illegal immigration rewarded because how could we allow it and not justify any other crime?
Fourth, America is the only country that other peoples of the world doe not feel that we should have soverign borders like they do. In Mexico, it is a felony to illegally enter that country but their hypocritical leader says that Mexicans should be allowed to enter America any way they can and be treated equally to American citizens. What a phony the Mexican president is.

Benn Murray, you've got no clue how Native American's feel. Native American's and White's are like brother's and Sister's now in Native America. My Grandmother was Native American and I lived in the Choctaw Nation for 10 years. Native Americans are angry that their jobs are being taken by illegals not to mention being angry at the disrespect for our country by illegals. If we lose this country you lose your country again. Think about it. Raza cares only for Raza.

Shame on her mother for coming here illegally; and now we are to grant citizenship to her offspring? At what time was the mother going to tell her daughter that she was not a citizen of the U.S.A.? Where is the responsibility of this woman?

The fact that our southern border is porous has led to much crime and suffering in America to hispanic families because so many young males are being killed by gangs that are strengthened by gangs from south of the border merging with local gangs.

The cartels are destroying Mexico because the social values and the family values there are decaying. If the United States does not protect our borders better, our country will suffer the social breakdowns here and there will be much more violence to our people. Illegal immigration is just one part of the destruction of our country.
