I really really really enjoyed this happy cheerful good news movie... but I did get a little teary eyed in the middle of it.. when Queen Latifah sang "I know Where I've Been", it made me think of all the promises in the 60's for racial equality and new beginnings... and where we are today... if anything we are worse off. There is more racial inequality in America today than ever... oh sure, we can drink out of the same fountains and sit where we want on the bus... but who goes to school in the poorest facilities and who gets the jobs in corporate American and where is the ethnic diversity in America... it made me sad to see that we are where we were when we couldn't dance together and it may be even worse... look around your neighborhood... look in the prisons.. see this movie and think about what we dreamed and how the dream is still a dream...
