Viva Las Sydney! Elvis's daughter Lisa Marie Presley plays to sold-out crowd at RSL club... but refuses entry to patrons dressed as her late father The crowd may have been full of silver foxes and greying dames, but that didn't matter much to Lisa Marie Presely when she played the first show of her Australian tour at Hornsby RSL on Wednesday night.

Lisa Marie may be Elvis' biological daughter but she surely doesn't have her father's legendary drive as a performer. Dude's vocals were out of this world. LMP as much as she tries just doesn't have it. Luckily, though, she has settled down for real this time. It's obvious she left the U.S. for London to get away from the influence of Scientology.

<quoted text>Priscilla never liked Elvis's religious studies in his searching for the answers within his own immortal soul because it took a lot of Elvis's attention away from her. I am not surprised she'd be into Scientology. Priscilla thinks that the cult would have helped Elvis. I do not think Elvis would have fell for Scientology because they do not study Jesus. Elvis was into searching for God. He might have welcomed death as a positive thing because it would reunite him with his mother. Priscilla took Elvis's interest in the bible as a negative obsession, which Elvis withdrew from the people around him. Obviously, drugs were also a part of that. In my opinion, Elvis went too deep into what he read.
Elvis turned off Priscilla sexually when she turned into a woman. He liked girls and preferred male company. Elvis was a complex man but at least he wasn't stupid enough to fall into Scientology. He should never had turned to FAT, that's what really killed him. His fans are what's stopping LMP from throwing in the towel.

You should check this out. It's one of Lisa Marie's many little subtle messages to Scientology shortly after she left. Have to love how it has one word is made to be "evil" and "cult" at the same time. It's genius!

Nope, Elvis was turned off by Priscilla because she kept accusing him of being with other women and had shown no interest in his spiritual quests. She tried to change him and it drove him away. They simply had a bad marriage. Perhaps, you think Linda Thompson and Ginger Alden were girls but in reality, they were women. The Memphis Mafia did not share Elvis's love for the bible or other religious text either except for Larry Geller, who they were jealous of because he gave Elvis many new age books to read. Elvis loved getting deeply into those complex subjects and the Memphis Mafia wanted Elvis's attention also. And about Elvis gaining and losing weight...no one cares. Elvis fans accepted him no matter what he looked like because it was his music and performances that kept them coming back for more.

Like I said, most Elvis fans do not like Lisa Marie. She should throw in the towel because no one wants to hear her music.

Storm and Grace got pretty good reviews but Lisa isn't the singer her father was! Lisa isn't very good live singing and doesn't have stage presence(last time I checked out live video of her on youtube anyways.)

I like the CD "Storm And Grace" especially since Lisa Marie signed it but I haven't listened to it often. It was just neat to say that my wife and I got to meet her at Sun records. It is just because she is Elvis's daughter. It was the ultimate cool to stand there in front of her and say hi. That is all.

She will never take the place of her dad.

I had to goggle who you are talking about and now I know. Those Baptists nuts were sickos. Definitely a cult that protested funerals of gay people and military personal to be hateful. Unfortunately, there are still radical religious nuts like that in today's society. Hardly anyone listens to them but sometimes they let themselves be known. Baptists are strange anyway.

<quoted text> Oh and just another fun fact about Nicholas Cage... His real name is Nicholas Coppola. He is the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola. He changed his name because he did not want to ride on his uncle's fame. Now that's a guy with integrity don't you think? Jacko molested boys... had zero integrity.
Yes, to me, that does point to Nick 's integrity. He's also an excellent actor and that alone was enough to launch his very successful career.

True, Lisa will never be as good as her Father was, but gives it her best shot anyway because she enjoys it. Besides, she's kept fairly busy these days with being a mother, etc.

Just sharing a little experience I once had. A few years back the WBC did a picket at a school in a nearby town. Of course my (then) girlfriend and I had to take a drive over to check it out. There were a surprising number of counter protesters there and we all got the chance to go up and talk to the cult members. Unfortunately Fred was not there and he was the one I really wanted to talk to. I spoke with 4 of them and a couple weren't as bad as I thought. I'll give my little take on the ones I spoke with.

John Phelps: Was quiet and soft spoken. He was holding up 2 very hateful signs but was actually kind when approached. Really seemed to believe he was doing a world a favor spreading this crap.

Shirley Phelps-Roper: Where do I begin with this egotistical windbag... Has made a lot of TV appearances and talking to her in person was no different. Sitting on her high horse spouting off, not really answering my questions and not letting me get a word in edgewise. When I would try to interject, she would just raise her voice louder. Trying to convince me these are the end times and that Obama is the biblical anti-Christ.

Megan (Shirley's daughter and is now out of the cult, yay!): I did not speak much to her but she was actually friendly and answered questions in a nice way, unlike her mother.

Margie Phelps: Rotten mean spirited b--ch. Superiority complex and borderline verbally abusive. Would shush and override her own family members occasionally when they were speaking. Called me a cockmucker (yea with an M, what is that lol?).

Anyway thought I'd share for anyone interested.

I'd bet some Wacko floons will be there protesting Wade Robson's upcoming child molestation trial holding signs and banners calling Wade a liar and screaming for justice. It wouldn't surprise me at all. The crowds seem to be getting smaller each year the clown rots though.

If you haven't been there yet, visit Elvis's birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi. It is not that far from Memphis.

Yes, might do that this time but really, I just want to hang around in Memphis. I could live there and still never have enough of the place. No wonder Elvis could never wait to leave Hollywood and Vegas and go home.
My wife and I wouldn't mind moving to Memphis. I've been there many times and love the southern warmth of the friendly people around Whitehaven. I've even took a privite tour once of Elvis's Audubon Drive house. Elvis fans own it now. But Tupelo is great also. It has a different feel than Graceland but they have a wonderful memorial there for Elvis. They built a church next door to the actual house and a stone garden. It is worth taking the trip. We had rented a mini van and spent at least a couple hours there. What made it better was my friends know someone that knew the area and knew the best restaurants and Elvis haunts. The very first time I had visited Memphis was in 2000 with my parents. They invited me along because they knew I would want to visit Graceland. Aunt Delta was still alive and she was living in the house. It was more surreal to me then because it was more like a home and I know it sounds strange but I could feel Elvis;s presense. It has changed a little bit but I love Graceland and seeing Elvis's final resting place.

Elvis fans love LMP because through her they hang onto what's left of him.
Elvis left LMP with too many emotional scars and her music reflects her pain.
LMP related to MJ's emotional pain and that's what brought them together to fall in love with each other.

I do not know if you could call what Lisa and Michael had love based on emotional pain. She basically hates the tabloids and could indentify with Michael's plight with complaining about what she saw as an invasion of privacy. So they both decided to play a game with the media and the tabloids. Since Elvis died when Lisa Marie was nine years old, she probably at one time was still angry at him for dying. That would explain her behavior.

^ I guess it's too late to tell them that that supposed "racist" comment he allegedly made wasn't even true. It was fabricated. Elvis was loved by black fans as well as the Jewish community and everyone else. Like the other '50s rockers like Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Buddy Holly, he united races. MJ did too for a time in the '80s but of course when he was in trouble, he used race as an excuse for why he always got caught up.

You know, the one regret that I had at Graceland was that it all seemed so corporate and I really wish I'd visisted there sooner and when she was srill alive. However, too late now.
I can't wait to go back there. I know most people won't understand it, but it's so awe inspiring in so many ways. Even the fact that he, with all his riches and as the most succesful entertainer in the world, chose to live in a relatively small house - it all kind of explains him and his principles as a person in that it indicted his wants for a nice family home rather than a flashy palace. Hey, and not a single ferris wheel in sight.
BTW, you know in the trophy room where there's a cabinet with his charitable cheques in - did you notice that here was one for the Memphis Jewish Society? That amused me because Wacko fans always accuse Elvis of racism and then defend Wacko's anti Semitism. I had a little chuckle when I saw that. Good old Elvis - he was a good man.
It is certainly true that when Aunt Delta was still alive, Graceland was more like a home than what it has become. They did not even have a public restroom on the property yet in 2000. Elvis fans would be going through the house and ask to use the bathroom. I know by today's standards, Graceland could be regarded as a small house but Elvis had bought it in 1957 for his mom and simply did not desire to move into a bigger place. It still is big enough. It is also very modest in the way Elvis chose to decorate Graceland. It was definitely a man's home and there is not anything inside that suggested anyone but a good man once lived beyind those walls. Of course, Elvis had other homes but he always went back to Memphis. The trophy room is amazing in the older hall of gold and platinum then the newer building that has the recent CD awards, which is mindboggling. I did notice that EPE does change Elvis's countless charitable awards around and he has more than what is seen because they do not have room to display them all. Elvis gave to countless charities including Untied CP, Lighthouse For The Blind, Saint Jude's and so many others. I saw them in 2000. Yes, Elvis was a good, humble person without an inflated ego. He even took care of his friend Gary Pepper and made sure he was taken care of properly. He did not have to do any of those things but he did. People sometimes skip those facts but it is because they know nothing of the real man that was Elvis. I certainly do. Elvis was about peace and love, not John Lennon.
