I predict this movie will be a flop.
Stealing from Americans is no longer
appealing like it was during the release
of "wall st" so long ago. Back then,
everyone was doing ok. Now thanks
to Wall st., we are in the worst
economic times since the Great Depression.
Now THAT'S entertainment......NOT!
F- Wall street and their disdain
for the average American. We built
you idiots up and as you saw in 2008,
we can tear you down.

I could be wrong, but as I see it, this bad economy had its beginnings during the Dot.com busted. We never recovered fully because the normal recovery that should have happened was exacerbated by false starts, the 911 attack, various recessions, one war, then two, tons of military spending, all those years of Fed controlled lowered interest rates(to try to counter act the bad economy) which opened the doors to many forms of greedy speculation using cheap debt for fuel as individuals and institutions hoping to get a piece of the housing bubble Pie jumped in blindly. Extreme speculation in the housing market involving many reputable banks and bank-like institutions on top of all of the above left our nation crippled. Wall Street is just a betting game in its simplest form and I don't know why people pay so much attention to it but people do. Betting games attract cheating, they always have so we can't be too surprised. When judged for what it is, all seems normal, I think.

You make some really good points, B Frankly. I just think Michael Douglas has aged just enough that he is not attractive anymore and Shia....eecchh...maybe little girls like him but he's about as appealing as the chick in the flick....zzzzzzz......really don't see this movie doing well except for the idiots on Wall st. who will probably memorize all the lines from it like they did the first movie. Losers....

I wish Michael Douglas a speedy and full recovery, no one should wish cancer on anyone. Michael and the other actors do a very good job in this film, there are some touching moments that seem to be convincing. Michael Douglas acts his age and he does a good job portraying a criminal that is torn between cold greed and seeing what really matters in life. For those interested in the financial world there is some scary behind the scenes stuff going on and it sounds a lot like the real world and that is even scarier. In the end the bad guys lose.

I give it a Buy, Buy, Buy!
