Metallica's Hetfield, county work on Terra Linda trail deal

Full story: Marin Independent Journal

Marin heavy metal star James Hetfield is working with the county's Parks and Open Space District on a new trail that would skirt a monolithic fence the Metallica frontman erected on his property last summer to keep people from hiking and riding across it.

This is why they killed the Coroner? So a celebrity could have a hiking trail?

it is very nice that Hetfeild is will to share his land with the public. i just wish the wheels could move a bit quicker as it would be nice to start enjoying the trail sooner than later. Hopefully there will be no enviro groups delaying this project.

James, I really like your sound. I am a native who has spent his life hiking the Marin trails. Your bands music is in point of fact an excellent "energy supplier" for long distance, high speed hikers like me. I just wanna say that although i don't know the exact trail in question....I will submit that , given the magical nature of these hills, one should indeed encourage hiking in general. When you listen to loud music on a good headset.....you are filled with energy! And this is how the REAL MARIN is experienced....you rev. up one the tunes and go hiking in the hills. I is an experience that can be had NO PLACE ELSE. We have the best hill access anywhere! Please help us to remain....the absolute coolest place to be in the whole world. I thank you in advance .

Quite frankly James, with all these crazy liberals in Marin, I would have thought more of you if you just said "screw you all".

When you were a kid and the neighbor came over to tell you to turn down the music what did you do? You cranked it twice as loud.

When they said you would never make it as a band what did you do? You said F you.

Your entire life is full of these examples.

You are getting soft in your later years. That is unbecoming of a rocker.

I bet Lars would have told Marin residents to go F themselves.

If you change your mind, 99% of your fans stand behind you. Right now though you have me thinking you are going to come out with a Christmas album....

That no talent----had no part in two good songs. The hooks on both songs were provided by
twp union techs. They were very good at screaming through boss vocal processor and drinking-

Sounds like your just jealous. Millions of fans speak the truth about how great Metallica is. And this really has nothing to do with the band. James is being a good neighbor and still getting bashed for it.

So, let's see here. Hetfield is clearly not right in the head...let's blame the amps and the "vitamins", and the Promise Keepers for thia fact. But he is just a harmless fool. The problem here is the builder of this fence. There was a time when a builder would refuse a job in the name of community brotherhood. This builder JUST DOESN"T CARE...as his actions have clearly displayed. It is the immorality of the ONE PERSON who owns the building company the built this monstrosity.
In the business world the appropriate and time tested response to such a blatant crime against the community is to SHUN to criminal. As of today I will not consider doing business with the person named in the article, nor the business named. That is my answer to this situation. Make up you own mind..........

Wait Wait!
The county is spending $200,000. to bypass M Hetfields' property, and that's regarded as "being cooperative"? Glad to hear M Kinsey is excited about our tax $ being used to avoid the ire of someone famous for releasing an album named "Kill 'em all".....
Such generosity....

Nice work James. Good seeing you at the memorial a lil while back for the sudden passing of a great man, local to the community. To those who criticize him, why weren't you at the memorial. Have no heart? Ahh so we could have figured. Rock on!

Hetfield is a heavy metal millionaire ding-dong living in a house on a hill. Delusionally thinks one of his fans will come up there and 'Kill'em All'.

I don't feel so bad about foreclosing my house and not paying property taxes this year. Thanks for making my county job obsolete supervisors - I am glad I won't have an income to redistribute and can't afford my taxes now, because they go to pay for crap like this.
