If an ex-gay took the non-existent "gay test", and it showed him to be heterosexual, you would say "well, they always were heterosexual then".
Any researcher worth the cost of his education would know that is not the way to come up with any kind of valid study. But it wouldn't be that difficult to allow an impartial researcher to study change. All Exodus needs to do is allow those who come seeking change, to take a penile plesmograph test, administered by a qualified researcher, upon entering therapy, and again after therapy. Then they would follow up with those people long term.
It's not hard to do, yet no reparative therapy has done it. Why is that? Are they afraid of the results? If the results supported them, just think what a great propaganda tool that could be for them! Reparative therapists could be getting rich from their successful work with real proof of its success.
