On the day when the world is going to celebrate World Hypnotism Day - January 4th, the question arises for some, "How much are hypnotism and meditation alike?" This question pondered by meditators, lay hypnotists, and transpersonal psychologists like Charles Tart Ph.D. alike, is an interesting one.

Meditation is just another kind of Hypnotism which is the tool the Hindu/Buddhism uses to slave people.

Buddhist meditation develops the mind and helps one to overcome evil.

Hindu meditation destroys the mind and makes you evil, resulting in the birth of slugs in human form like rohan.

Hypnotism is not meditation, and meditation is not self hypnosis.

The author of this article is utterly ignorant and knows nothing about how Buddhist meditation is mind strengthening.

Wonderful Country(Killers of Indigenous People); Wonderful Religions(Killer Religions); Wonderful People(Killer and Rapists on the order of the Monks).

The whole world will know this, soon.

(After the attack Victoria was brutally raped and was found naked by the time the police arrived to investigate. She also suffered blunt trauma and sustained a skull fracture. According to an eye witness she was raped even as she lay bleeding from the head wound.(photo left: The alleged murderer, Sampath Chandra Pushpa Vidanapathirana, in the company of president Rajapakse))

What will the whole world know? Where are the monks? You know how many tourists are murdered every year in different countries--heck you might end up dead in your own country.

You are slimy. Why do you worry about Sri Lanka? You try to fix evil India. Fix your own evil first.

meditation is a form of hypnosis and could very well enslave people like religion does. meditation is not natural like drinking water or breathing so it is a practised influence upon the brain which makes meditation dangerous. and rohanx is right on spot here.

You're both wrong.

Buddhist meditation is mind development, science has proven Buddhist meditation makes one happier and develops happiness centers in your brain. The practice is completely dependent on your will to practice--no guru can make you practice.

hypnosis is attempted mind control which for the most part fails since it is dependent on an external participant trying to train your mind. If you don't want it and can't train yourself, a doctor sure won't be able to.

You support evil LTTE instead of making peace with the Sri Lankans. Why do youwonder?

Lord Buddha said to make peace. Whatever happened before is over, now make peace and take care of one another. Give peace a chance!

Don't leave yourself open for evil. Be filled now with the spirit of Jesus Christ and meditate upon his holy word. Choose you this day whom you will serve. Don't be robbed of that choice God has given each of us. The Devil knows his time is short and wants you to lose out on eternal life. Be wise unto salvation.

Jesus(Joshua) was born as a Native/Indigenous Child and left at the manger by his Native parents fearing for the Law.

The Aryan/Jewish couple(Josef and Mary) found our Indigenous Child Jesus and adapted him as their child.

Jesus' look is not European or Aryan(Arabian); but Dravidian Look.

Do not follow blind men, follow the best sage!

Jesus was only the root of David, Buddha was the root of all.

Be wise, follow the best! None but Lord Buddha!

well, there was no thing that used to confuse me a lot.does yoga or meditation should necessarily be connected to the buddhism? in ancient time, the monks used to try to reach a state of harmony through yoga practice and through meditation, but does that make yoga religiou? i'd rather think that the root and principle of medition are phylosophical.

Religion in the truest sense of the word is disciplining the body, speech and mind through repeated practice and reflection.

i agree. but,i might just follow the disciplines without thinking about my confusion too much.i am not a believer in any religion, at least for now, although i can accept and appreciate the phylosophy in most of the existing religions.

when the ancient people in india began to practice yoga and imitate the behaviours of animals and to reflect their relationship with the world, i believe, they didn't intend to make it a religious act.

The real question is... Has meditation helped you? Have you stopped indulging in the death of other living beings. Have you stopped eating the flesh of other creatures and purified your body and soul. Or are you just deceiving yourself.

Buddhism Vs Islam..........Evil Vs Evil

Sri Lanka has ordered a group of 161 foreign Muslim clerics to leave the country, for flouting visa regulations by preaching to pockets of Muslims around the country, an official said Sunday.“We have ordered them to leave the country by January 31. They have violated immigration laws. A tourist visa is to have a holiday or visit friends and family and not to preach Islam,” Perera told AFP. He said the group, which belongs to the Tabligh Jamat group, arrived in Sri Lanka last month in small batches.

Why not stop oppressing Sri Lanka Buddhist and Muslim and bring some of your beauty to our United States of American.

The United States needs that kind of quality.

Presently the United States is the most radically violent non-peaceful White controlled country in the world.

The majority of the more than 300 million people currently living in the United States consists of White Americans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_ethnici...

We in the United States live in a white Preditorial Capitalism, and we find ourselves oppressed by the majority of whites and their votes in the mob ruled country.

Whites owned 22.6 million nonfarm U.S. businesses in 2007, an increase of 13.6 percent from 2002. In 2007, White-owned firms accounted for 83.4 percent of all nonfarm businesses in the United States, 44.8 percent of total employment and 34.0 percent of total receipts.

In 2007, there were 18.0 million White-owned firms without paid employees. These firms generated $834.5 billion in receipts, an increase of 23.8 percent from 2002. In 2007, nonemployers accounted for 79.4 percent of the total number of White-owned firms.

Business owns the country here. It owns the government. And we are slaves.

We hope change come with friendship.
