ok TOOL is great. i've listened to them long enough to tell you that they are VERY talented. but i wasn't very pleased with their latest album. i don't know but it seemed as if were missing something...like it just wasn't 'TOOL' enough. maybe im wrong, but ayways TOOL is an all-around great band.

Reason being is that Lateralus was(personally still is) the ultimate album and we're compariing 10 000 days to it.
Look at it this way... Maynard is like a philosopher... and this Album is just a different aspect of his philosophies, feelings and experiences:)

In my opinion the albums are evolving just as people do. I can't wait to see what they create next.

I've been listening to 10,000 Days since its release a year and a half ago, and it's still growing on me. I had the same for lateralus - it took me ages before I thought it was as good as Aenima, but now I'm of the opinion that it's better in many ways (although, I'll put on Aenima and wonder how I could have that opinion). I recon 10,000 Days is a genuine tool masterpiece, but like their previous releases it takes a little while to get it. Don't forget that a big part of their ethos is to not be judgemental!

Keenan definitely does have a beautiful sense about him... not to be too new age, but he has a beautiful aura.

I dont think you have listened to Tool enough. Every Tool Album has a significant change from the previous. The latest album expressed more saddness than any other and that is why its " Not TOOL Enough" for you. They Kick all major Ass!

He had a beautiful voice, a very long time before TOOL ever existed. I can remember back to 1997-1998...listening to Aenima, sitting in some corner gas station working the graveyard shift...just listening to the haunting melodies, the deep bellow of his voice. Its really something to marvel at. Very powerful, pure tone, lengthy chant,...just pure anger in its most sexual form.
What gets to us, quite like a voice, or like a certain music? Nothing, absolutely nothing at all. For some reason, this dark and ancient form of the craft keeps us in its bounds. It teaches us in ways which the basic human language does not accomplish just spoken on its own. It reaches into the soul. A band like Tool, they have found that path...a way to bring the message of life home.
