I am sure he is happy, as LeiLi is. Im happy for the both of them. This man, he's been through alot of shit in his life. He deserves a bit of happiness. He says what he needs to say. He sings from within himself. He creates great things. Let him be.
He may lie, he may say things from time to time, uncertain of the outcome or effect it may place on some certain people...but he meant well. Let him be happy.

I would not be surprised if this went to marriage as she has got herself so far rooted into his life, and made sure she has made her stamp to make sure he is reliant on her. I am sure he is neck deep, and cant actually think there is a life beyond without her now. He has been and always will be a independent person through out his life, and I am sure it has been a major learning lesson for him to share his life and experiences. But I am not sure if she is really suited to him, as she seems to encourage a lot more promotion that I am sure he has been comfortable with in the past, and even thought he is a rock star he is more conservative than what you would think, and she seems kooky and dark/morbid and a shameless self promoter on his website( to display her stamp on their relationship). I would be surprised if he does not become tired of all the shameless promotion that has been the cause of this "relationship" between her and MJK. She can chime on about forever, but the pattern that he has shown in the past with his relationships is nothing lasts forever(( and he has cheated on past women whilst on tour)no wonder she follows him like a little sheep on recent tours). Good luck and we will see in 10 years how this has "lasted".

What makes you so sure he isn't promoting it himself. I doubt anyone "makes" him do anything he doesn't want to especially on his own site and out of his own mouth. And as for following like a sheep...when you enjoy each other's company, you do what you have to in order to have time together even if that means travel together. So say what you will, we're happy!

Maynard is a total asshole. Let him get married or whatever. He charged a ton of money for his meet and greets and refused to say hi back to anyone or shake a guy's hand. Then a guy wanted to give him a tshirt at a meet and greet and Maynard refused the gift and threw it back at him. Ask most of the people who have met Maynard. He is a total douchebag, and he's ensuring that none of us spend any more money on his shows.

Anyone who is negative about Maynard's engagement is just bitter it wasn't you he chose to be with (male or female). Maynard is so talented and has the ability to reach inside our soul. When that happens you feel like you have a connection with him and he "gets" you. Because I believe that Maynard is centered and intelligent I can only say congratulations to both Maynard and Jen. Jen you are a lucky girl and enjoy every moment with that man. Don't let the negativity get to you just cherish what you and who you have. AWESOME!

I can't believe some of the comments on here. Such hateful words from complete strangers judging a relationship they know nothing about. I'm extremely happy for these two that I don't know personally, but would never judge a relationship, negatively, that I know nothing about. I hope Maynard and Jen (Lei Li) have a beautiful marriage and make beautiful babies ;). I actually saw Lei Li walk past me at the TOOL concert in Honolulu and she looked very happy watching her man from the crowd with everyone else. If he is a private person why would he openly announce his engagement?

For those who are so concerned, even if he is engaged to this Lei Li person (who people claim is quite the drama queen) maybe this could be viewed as a "better her than you" situation.. I don't know about anyone else, but if a guy wanted to openly cheat on me & I accepted it, then I would be a complete fool for allowing it.

Besides, mmost musicians should be a red flag anyhow.

I had the most amazing time after sharing a few days with Maynard. A time,of course, I will never forget.
He had said He was in an "open relationship"and yes, we all know how much he loves women.
But He's a real gentleman, sweet and soft, unselfish,surrealistically spiritual.
He could stay single and keep having ANY girl He wants. But He's trying to have a "normal" life and enjoy a happy and peaceful home and He totally deserves it.
Who knows how they would manage their marriage but hey, Who are we to judge?
No matter How much I dream about seeing him again I understand I'm just one more girl He's had. We know how things are on his life.
So I'm definitely HAPPY for him and hope things really work out for them.
And I think Everyone Should stop being SELFISH and let him be, Im proud of his decision !
