connie smith's old home is no longer standing but just for informations sake it used to stand just past the little wolf creek road on route 12 going south. The house was used as a camp for many years and was finally torn down. The property was located between the roadway and river and can be identified now by a single red gate under a couple of trees with some firewood stacked around them. I think the property belongs to Dr. Blume from Forest Hill.

Connie's maiden name was Meador and I think she had some relatives that lived along Pipestem creek. Her picture is in the Meador/Meadows family history book compiled by Lark Meador.

I dont think anyone does give a crap about her now and yu are right; she dont think much about and of Hinton Now. She left summers county at a very young age (9 or 10) and was raised either in Indiana or Ohio. Only after she had some success in her field that she began to refer back to her WV roots. As far as relatives here in the county she only has some distant, distant distant cousins (of which I am one). She has done right well without the county and city and I am sure that she will continue to do well. In fact she hasnt used being from here to help her and I suppose we shouldnt use it to hurt her either.
