Ah...duh...don't take the governments word for anything. The only thing you can be sure of is the silver lining in the politicians and contractors pockets from the raised taxes we all have paid.

"We've had a couple of problems here before and we're trying to address them as best we can," he said.

Christina Montoya, vice president of communications and marketing for the utility, said a plan is in the preliminary stages that would alleviate drainage problems in the area.

"Our crews are doing their best, they've noted that area as one of the areas that they know does flood. We're trying to work for them, we're trying to help as much as we can."

...and how long has it been since the last flood? Its taken this long to get to a 'preliminary' planning stage. What the fridge have they been doing all this time????!!!!

I lol'ed the other night when I saw KFOX's Miri Marshall interviewing Christina Montoya about some ponding out on Doniphan. Christina almost lost her patience at one point.

Side note: Christina's yearly salary is $84,820.00. I looked it up on that database The Times reported about. Not bad for an ex-newscaster.

The Rosa's Cantina on Doniphan was not there when Marty Robbins lived briefly in El Paso. It was a made-up name for a made-up song. Only years later did a Rosa's Cantina pop up to take advantage of the fame.
