I don't care about the Gay Day Parade. Local color. If I were to see some part of it I guess I'd just smirk and be glad you can't get married. I like it that way. Just the way I am. It makes me feel warm and happy inside. Wear something to the parade people can take a picture of and show to their religious friends to illustrate how depraved and sick your community is. That's what people think of when they go into the polling booth.

They are celebrating surviving the other 364 days surrounded with folks like you.

When people like you are completely at ease with a gay couple holding hands in the street, and gay youth being 100% open in schools, and gay people in general living openly and honestly in your workplace, your neighborhood, and your church, THEN such festivals won't be needed.

As it is, it's still one of the ONLY places where a gay person can hold hands with their loved ones, and be completely relaxed. And that has a womderful draw, to be able to relax and be one's self, surrounded by those who do not judge you based on a single physical characteristic.

You might want to try it sometime.

And as for your horror of gay men, or drag queens, my questions whould be WHY?

Most gay folks are not flamboyant at all, but for those that are, you might want to ask yourself how theya re harming YOU?

Are you also horrified by punkers, and goths, Leather clad biker dudes, and straight women who wear revealing clothing?
