My heart goes out to all of the canine angels that passed because of this fire.

I have two things that upset me..

1 - Martha Stewart was going to "adopt" this canine? No she was going to PAY for a dog. Lets not beat around the bush.

2 - We used Pazzazz 9 years ago to board and groom our canine companion. Pazzazz came highly recommended. We did an inspection of the facilities and liked what we found. Our dissatisfaction came when we picked up our baby. She had dried fecal matter on her. When I questioned Karen and Jean, they stated that it must have happened after grooming. No way! They were instructed that grooming was to be done the morning when we were picking our baby up. Feces do not dry up an hour after grooming & our baby fur was dirty. These two were lazy. We never went back.

Guess people with money do not care who they deal with; or they do not really know who they dealing with.

No, the people with money probably leave all of the details (like maybe checking out the place where they're getting the dog?) to their assistants. To those who are saying "they're just dogs;" ok, so maybe in the grand scheme of things a couple of dogs don't rank very high; however, considering the joy that our animals bring to our lives (well, most of us, anyhow), it's natural to have sympathy for the dogs that were killed/injured and the people who were going to take them to new homes (even if the people WEREN'T famous). Being killed in a fire is a horrible way to die, whether the victim is animal or human.

Breeders would stop breeding, if people would stop paying.

Adopt a dog from a no kill shelter.

Like Martha actually spends time with her animals. What a joke ! I thought she already had some french bulldogs that she dresses funny and cats too. I am sure her staff won't miss picking up after another dog.

Its sad for the dogs. But what about the poor guy that got hurt. Theres so much said about the dogs and not much about the guy from the gas company.I would like to know how he is.

this picture is amazing, what a gorgeous puppy. All the animals I ever owned have been rescues, usually from the kill shelter on Dixon Street and they have all been fabulous, I have also saved them from off of craigslist.
please people if you have room in your heart and wallet, take in a throw-away. you will be repaid 10 fold. sometimes, now that I think about it, its as if they know you saved them. they love you forever.

I can understand how this is a tragedy and the incident at the kennel is front page but who gives a flying fiddle about Martha Stewart and her criminal ways.

Other news outlets had the Martha Stewart angle, like, five days ago.
Leave it to Mcall to be last.

First of all to "agree with you". You come off as being a jerk, first class. Maybe in the grand scheme of things less dogs don't matter. But they way they died is horrific. You are just plain mean.
I do however, get annoyed that not much is said about the gas truck driver. Hospitals do not release info too easily, the privacy act. But a few days ago it was on the news that he is in critical condition. Lets not forget this poor man and pray for him.

Not newsworthy and a waste of space that could have been used by yet another offer to buy used jewelry or coupons for discount pizza.
I'm sorry there was a fire that caused suffering to humans and the awful deaths of some of the dogs. But this is just dragging the whole thing out too long and too far. So Martha was supposed to get a dog and now she won"t Okay. She should ease her pain by rescuing an animal from a shelter. Besides, the dog in the picture looks like it was already hit by a bus.
go back to new jersey and stay there dipsheet. if you hate reading this paper so much dont read it. you immature arese. why bother leaving a comment if it is such a waste of your pathetic jersey life?

I agree! Wake up people! These are just a bunch of stupid dogs, nothing more, nothing less. I mean, I love animals too, and owned 2 dogs myself, but in the whole scheme of things, they are just DOGS. There are too many dogs as it is, the world can afford to lose a few more, trust me.
It would be entirely different if a person was killed or hurt or something but not when it is just a silly dog. Get over it.
What mean heartless people you are. I hope you chose to not own any pets. If you don't care for feature articles in the newspaper, why spend time reading & commenting on them?

Its stories like this that make me not want to buy the Mcall, a total waste of $.75 cents spend a quarter more and get the NY Post. Much better newspaper with less crap than the mcall.

I need to agree with many of you, I'm tired of hearing about this story already. You can bet if Martha Stewart or some other celeb wasn't involved, this story would be old news already.

I have used this kennel a few times over the last year, and it was clean, my dog was fed and happy. he had a place to exercise. I hope martha sends this kennel a nice big check since she is loaded so they can rebuild. and for all you "oh rescue a shelter animal" people....yes, it a shame for all those homeless animals. these people were not "overbreeding" chows. there is a demand for these pups. they are not a lancaster puppy mill.
