BBC documentary on Gandhi

Yesterday, I watched an episode in the Gandhi documentary. The programme is presented by Mishael Hussein, a muslim born to Pakistani immigrants, who themselves first left India at the partition time for Pakistan.
Mishail puts the blame of partition on Gandhi in that his actions and statements were not inclusive for many muslims like her parents.
Mishail thinks that Gandhi by prqctising and expousing his personal faith unnerved many muslims. She is then ignorant of the policies of the Congress party over many years. She then also does not take into account the views of the congress leader Nehru. Also, she ignores many muslims like Chagal who pleaded otherwise and they never had regrets of not moving to Pakistan.
Yes, there were fears of being minority and many more moved after the partition due to the violence instigated by the fact of the partition. Many had to move because of intimidation after the fact of partition.
However, the root of a separate muslim state were laid long time before the 1930s. That made Iqbal draw a map. The seeds were sown because of the religion and sentiments like " we ruled before and we cannot accept being rules as a minority."
Gandhi made many attemts to stop partition and that incuded offering gthe leadrship ti Jinnah.

Gandhi just wanted PEACE and he still hasnt got it evern though he has been dead for 61 YEARS, indipendant india has turned their back on Gandhi!

I dont think that she is putting the blame on Gandhi, this is a documenry on gandhi not who was resonsible for the partition, and everyone knows jinah was responsble.

She did so when she explains as to why muslims like her parents opted for Pakistan. She then does not go on to refer to some prominent muslims who decided to stay and others decided to go only after witnessing the religion based violence after independence in both countries.
