Inform without Insulting please!!!
Although I can not comment on Tuesday nights' performance, I can attest to Thursday's.(3/27) I found Mr. Phillips to be very engaging indeed! The only disappointment I experienced, fell with the audience. Before the curtain dropped on the final act, long before the final bow, dozens of patrons flooded the aisles, in their haste to exit prematurely. Had the Hippodrome suddenly caught fire?? I was embarrassed for Baltimore. All while Mr. Phillips was graciously complimenting the audience saying [that we] "put the amore in Baltimore". As if the ill mannered audience wasn't insulting enough, let's top it off with an ill written critique! Why don't we just give him a swift kick and be done with it? Personally, I thought the show was lovely, the scenery spectacular and Lou Diamond Phillips stole the show! Fortunate enough to have access to binoculars, I was touched as I witnessed real tears falling from his eyes, during the emotional final scene. Fine acting on his part? Or thoughts of enduring another week in Baltimore?

Totally agree with Clair Clasing's comments--Phillips' co-stars are extremely talented, with strong, beautiful voices, but he more than held his own with enthusiasm, passion, and wonderful comic timing. As for the patrons...clambering to leave while being addressed by the star of the production is very poor form. Bravo to all on a most entertaining production!

Balto audiences are not known for their finesse to begin with. It doesn't have to be a musical at the Hippodrome; it can be as simple as a movie at the mall. If you want to sit and enjoy the music and credits lots of luck. You won't be able to read anything on the screen for the mob pushing and shoving to exit. Sporting events are no different. Yesterday's opener was an example. Yes, we're losing and no, we will not be able to redeem the game. Can't you just sit and savor the moment of being at the park until the game has ended? Balto is a town in a hurry, sometimes with no where to go anyway.

I myself have not seen the production with Mr.Phillips. In the words of Don Rickles.."Let me tell ya dis much", I would see Lou Diamond Phillips in ANYTHING! He is gorgeous!
Tell me Ms.McCauley have you read too much Augusten Burroughs?...Or have you seen "All About Eve" one too many times and Addison DeWitt is your idol?

Lou Diamond Phillips is a diamond all right. I am a fan of his way before Camelot and from what I've seen from the clip he's doing a good job. I've been impressed with his acting for some time and I'm collecting my own video of Lou's acting career. Just hope I can see Camelot and one day meet him. I wish him the best and his family. Shame on someone whose job was to be a critic. God tells us to be of good report and of things uplifting. Not to tear down.

I was at the final show on Sunday and thought the entire show was wonderful.

I think this review of Camelot is totally unfair. Lou Diamond Phillips gives a tremendous performance as King Arthur, as with every project he does. He outshines everyone by far in this production. Anyone with eyes can see this! Maybe he isn't known for his singing. This may be a good thing for the many people who have not seen Camelot yet, because believe me, when you do see it, you will be amazed at the hidden talents this man has! He has an amazing voice! The entire cast is extremely talented...I'm not taking anything away from them, but Lou Diamond Phillips is totally incredible in his performance. Do not believe everything you read in the papers. Go see for yourself. I saw him in Naples, FL, and when he returns with Camelot next week to West Palm Beach, FL, I'll be there too!
