I felt privileged to have had the opportunity to hear President Gorbachev speak. His clarity and sincerity were inspiring. I believe in his concerns for world peace, the environment and for humanity. He struck a chord with me. He realizes it won't be easy but that world citizens have no choice but to implement change or our world is on a mission of self-destruct.

Thank you, Seminole Tribal Council and thank you, President Gorbachev for an interesting and memorable evening.

You can take the Communist out of the system but you can't take the system out of the Communist.

He said we tried to take advantage of the situation by expanding NATO, I say the oppressed people of the other nations of the former Soviet Union wanted to join Us as fast as they could to protect themselves from Russian influence.

Many in eastern europe had hopes of the US doing another Marshall Plan to revitalize the area, probably many in Eurasia as well - like the Russians, but instead we kept our attention on our own navel, and missed a chance to capture the hearts of many Russians who were hoping we'd try, and falling prey to perceived disinterest, allowed a shift back to the hardliners who retain power.

It's very sad, because the US is the world's most empassioned helpers of the world, but we became embrioled in other areas and neglected our friends, the Russian people, who fought so valiantly along side us in WW2.

There is still time, but we need statesman the equal of Reagan, and there is absolutely no one, except maybe John McCain who realizes we live in a world community, and what affects one person somewhere in the world, really affects us all.

Thank you, Mr. Gorbachev for your courage and your vision, and your commitment to improve the lives of the Russian people who have suffered so much, and have such a beautiful and artistic, talented country, deserving to have the same standard of living as the rest of the developed world, and would have had it not been for the somewhat demented obsession with the military that your predecessors had.

When you travel back, please take the greetings and blessing of us in America, north central and south, and let someone know that I would have been in St Petersburg for the tricenial with my family and visit Moscow, but we would have had to been invited to get in and paid enormous entry fees..and exit fees....let them know that although the current leadership may think Russia is Disneyland, if they want the tourist trade they have to been a little friendlier and less costly...Americans now shop at Walmart and not Sacks 5th Ave. Hope you're getting a lot of bargains over here now. Can you lighten up on the Ukranians and us here in the states on the cost of oil ?

And let's be REAL honest, where would you rather be medically treated, So Florida or Cuba.

With an approval rating of 28%, and falling, yes Mr. Bush will go down in history as the worst U.S. president ever.
He started a war which killed over 4,000 of our finest young men and women; He took a booming economy, with the largest surplus we've ever known, and turned it into a receccession and the highest national debt we've ever had!
The housing market is down the tubes. The entire world looks down on the U.S. The entire Moslem world hates us!
Al Quaida is stronger than ever, and now has a base in Iraq, which it never has under Hussein. Bin Laden is still laughing at us for the only attack ever, on continental U.S. soil, under the watch of Mr. Bush.
There are so many holes in Homeland Security that we are very lucky that
bmartin's comment is true. Hundreds of illegals slip past H.S. every month.

bmartin - did you forget that the thousands who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred on Boy George's watch?

Now Boy George is protecting us by making us take our shoes off at the airport?

Q. Are you trying to deceive people on purpose or accidentally? You know that economy was not booming and we were officially in recession when Bush took office. Just curious. I am sure you probably propagate your bible the same way, knowingly deceiving people on the facts to fit your agenda.

And i like surplus part. Clinton had the highest tax increase in US history and Bush had 3 tax decreases. May be you suggesting that Bush should increase the taxes so smart people like you would tell next president that we have the biggest surplus.

Cuba is a total wreck. One of the most advanced nations in Latin America 50 years ago is now a total mess. The economic relationship Cuba was guns for sugar which Mr. Castro used to elevate himself on the world stage while Cuba wasted away. The few benefits since 1959 the health care system etc are dwarfed by the huge cost of now rebuilding the nation, and the now un recoverable opportunity costs Cuba has lost had Castro never come to power. I greatly respect Gorbachev as an intelligent man but he is way off base on Cuba. U.S. policy may have been a failure but the rest of the world's policy of engagement has not worked either.

Prior to that there had been no attacks since 1941.

Bush ignored the warnings, and it happened on his watch.

Thanks for your lies and intentional mis-statements. Clinton left us a healthy economy and budget surplus. Also, the rest of the world respected the U.S. at that time.

Bush has ruined this country for years to come. He will go down in history as the WORST PRESIDENT EVER!
