a Blue Bloods' honors family, police work

"Blue Bloods" reminds us what families should be about. The CBS drama, finishing its freshman season as a hit Friday, May 13, features four generations of the close-knit Reagans.

Blue Bloods is the best new series I've seen. The cast of characters is excellent, the episodes are well crafted, and the theme carries a moral without being moralistic. I certainly hope we shall see this series next season.
Here's an idea. Why not identify real families with several members having served with the police and related public service organizations and acknowledge them as exemplars of the Reagan family tradition?
