The American Led Zeppelin?- definitely a great band! I've seen them live several times and they are always great. You have to see them to get the whole impact of the show they put on, it's pretty intense.

Great White does an awesome job of covering Led Zeppelin. Maybe Jimmy should be giving Jack a call.

Judged: 1 A clip from the story goes... As the flames spread inside the one-story club, band members jumped off the stage and joined the crowd, heading toward the exit. At least one of the musicians may not have made it. "It went up like a Christmas tree," Jack Russell, Great White's lead singer, told The Providence Journal. "I was trying to put it out with a bottle of water. I turned around and the building was engulfed. My sound man is injured. I'm on my way to the hospital. I'm missing my guitar player." Ya, Jack Russell and Mark Kendall did a great job back in the day doing Zep tributes along with their own material. They even have a Led Zeppelin tribute LP that is very tight. But they've had a hard time of it and the members are pretty well spent ... not in a used up way, but in a sprung sort of way. I have a lot of respect for Great White though; I don't think Jack Russell is right for the job. I would like to see Great White pull it together and make another CD that will make things right for them. http://www.metallian.com/greatwhite.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_White |

Judged: 2 1 1 Sounds like you have never seen Get The Led Out and have an agenda to push your boyfriends band! LMFAO! Look at the Get The Led Out show schedule and venues they play - that speaks for itself. |

there's a band named Led Zeppelica that is simply amazing. Every one of the members looks just like the original group, the use the same stage equipment, and they have the same energy led zeppelin has when they are on stage. They even use fog on the stage when they cover No Quarter.
Anybody who wants to see a great Led Zeppelin tribute should check out Led Zeppelica. |

Judged: 1 1 GTLO do studio covers, BORING! Hammer guys give you the whole experience, when you go you feel like you're really at a Zep show - there's 4 guys doing what Get The Led Out need 8 guys to do...and they do it BETTER. Lead singer is amazing, the guitarist is electric, Bass/Keyboard/Mandolin is awesome and drums are pounding - just like what Zep is supposed to be. Not a bunch of guys trying to sound like the recordings. For that I'll listen to the real friggen recordings. And btw, check out Hammer's schedule, it's full of great venues I don't know what you mean by that...just because GTLO wants to call themselves the "American Led Zeppelin" (LOL) doesn't make it so. |

Actually I've never seen Get The Led Out, but I checked out their website from the link in the first post. There are tons of Zep Tribute bands out there - Hotgs, Swan Song, Zepplica, and they all do they same thing. Dress up like and play zeppelin, it's been done to death - and it's all good. Get The Led Out is different - which is interesting. I know people that saw them at the Electric Factory in Philly and said it was a great concert. I'm gonna get tickets for the Nokia Theater show in NY and check them out for myself. Saying one band is better than another doesn't make it so. That's a losing battle that no one will ever win. From what I read on their website they are like the "American Led Zeppelin", it was a great story. I love listening to Zeppelin cds too, but for live I watch the DVDs. |

I have to agree...these are two very different approaches and I can care less which one is better cuz as long as it's good then it's all good. I can appreciate a ZOSO experience band when it's done well just like anybody else, but I can also appreciate the spot on replication of all that studio work that rarely gets played live (especially nowadays) and to hear that come to life would be yet another awesome experience.
As a guitar player who has spent many years learning to play all my favorite Zep songs- and found it very frustrating not being able to play all the parts to some of them-(like the 3 acoustic lines that intertwine with 1 mandolin in Going To California) on my singular acoustic or electric and I must confess that GTLO is a very welcome and fresh approach to a copy cat band. After all, this is mostly about music for some of us and we really could care less what they look like because ... well ... we kind of know it's not really them anyway! Right??? Okay then, it's all good. |

Your right my friend...I haven't seen a band where you close your eyes and they sound like the CD (only louder!!) I found out a couple of the band members have an original band call Hit the ground running (www.hitthegroundrunnin.com ) They are just as awsome!

GTLO's bassist Paul Piccari is the only member involved with that HGR project and it is more eighties Bon Jovi style pop than classic rock. The main members of GTLO have originals that are more Zep influenced and way more awesome. |

Limeira, Brazil |
Judged: 2 But I've been in Brazil last month and watched the best Led Zeppelin's tribute band I ever seen. They performed at the Clube do Vinil, a night club placed in the city of Americana, in the state of Sao Paulo. The band is brazilian and the musicians are very talented. If they only could have the same opportunities and resources of the First World bands...we all could listen to the best! The group members live in a small town called Limeira, next to Sao Paulo. Believe me, that brazilian band are much better than our Hammer of Gods, but they're still unknow out of Brazil. Edward Doyle, Evanston, Illinois. |
