Why the hell didn't an Afghanistan Dr. step up to the plate and fix her nose. I am sorry for her, but why is it always the U.S. that has to do this stuff. Haven't we done enough. Let her people take care of her. It's too bad that American Doctors aren't as generous to Americans as they are to the rest of the world. Oh wait, they probably wouldn't make the news if they did something nice for an American.

Uhmerikwan women could use some discipline. Maybe then they wouldn't act like a bunch of sluts.

Probably because most afghani doctors don't want to get FU**ING KILLED, idiot. Any doctor that helped her would have been punished, probably with death or severe physical abuse.

If an american doctor chooses to do something like this, it's really none of your business.

Plastic surgery isn't exactly as readily available in Afghanistan.

so it is alright for a doctor to let a citizen of his country die because he is afraid he might get killed, or hurt? Gee. I guess I expect more from a doctor, than to shun an injured person. Just saying. I still think it was for publicity for the american doctor. Why else would we have been told about it? Are you an afghan? just curious, since we don't have the whole story, how you would know so much about Afghanistan, down to this minute detail.

Just what I need an Afghani person named "SUK" saying that Afghan women need discipline so they will quit acting like sluts. All I can say is, that sounds like a personal problem to me, maybe if you tell your husband or master that you are a slut he will cut your nose off for you. good luck Mrs.SUK. Hey I'm a poet and didn't know it.

So how many women do you think are walking around Afghanistan with no nose, I always wondered why they cover their faces. So how about the rest of the story, will the woman return to her husband or find love here in the USA and live happily ever after? Please advise me, I won't be able to sleep until I know the answer.

No, I'm not afghahni. I just happen to pay attention to what is happening in the world. The Taliban 's history of cruelty is an open book; interfere with their decisions and it can turn really nasty, really quickly.

Doctors often have families, and most have an innate survival instinct. If the woman were suffering from something life-threatening, they might well have interceded. One can live without a nose, as she obviously was. You are also talking about a country where a large percentage of people have some jkind of deformity due to the constant war or the taliban's "justice." Why do you think she went to an american site to begin with?

Where did you get the idea that doctors must sacrifice themselves to save a patient? Not even army physicians are required to make that kind of sacrifice, though some have of their own volition.

Far too many. And it is not just women. Children are mutilated as well. However, this is not why they cover their faces. They cover their faces due to oppressive religous laws.

Perhaps you should spend a few months in that s#it-hole. You would then know the answer to your own question.
